Did he have ginger hair?I used to work nights in an older people's ward in a fairly decrepit hospital that used to be a workhouse. Plenty of scope for ghostly sightings you'd think, but I'm afraid I never had a sniff.
Mice, a window smashed with a hammer (it landed on the carpet), a firework slotted through an open window in the bathroom and exploding in the toilet bowl, the occasional old fella walking round naked, lots of shouting, but no ghosts. A lot of my colleagues reckoned they'd seen them over the years.

I was wondering where your contribution to this thread was You used to be a true believer, didn't you? Or am I overstating it?Paranormal phenomena is a thing, experienced plenty. The vast majority of what TV or paranormal groups put forward as evidence is easily explainable and most use assumption-lead techniques anyway.
People 100% experience and see things, the difference is that doesn't automatically equate to ghosts, there could be environmental and internal bodily factors people conveniently ignore. There's absolutely no evidence ghosts exist that can be considered concrete.

That was a bit of an inverted commas fest!Kind of .
In simple terms, I neither believe nor disbelieve in "spirits", I'm probably harsher on "paranormal investigators" than people who think it's all nonsense which doesn't make me hugely popular . It's an interesting field of "study", I've experienced some legitimately bizarre things which despite my best efforts I can't currently explain (for example, we had a door lock at work, which sounds easily explainable until you realise only me and my colleague have keys in the building), I've "seen" what people would describe as a ghost, yet most groups don't look for "evidence". They look for whatever confirms their world views and use experiments, a term that is stretched to its limits frankly, that completely rely on assumption (Ouija boards... which they assume "spirits" can use to talk to you, of course if they're not English they have some sort of psychic translator guide... I wish I was making that up).
Put it his way, people aren't as keen on the paranormal investigator who want's to actually explain what's happening, even venues really want you to just say "it's a ghost!", which considering how much some places charge I don't blame them! (seriously, some will charge £1500 for a few hours it's insanity)
That was a bit of an inverted commas fest!
What was the ghost experience? You weren't under extreme stress or taking anything at the time, i.e. you're not satisfied with just writing it off as hallucination?
I'm back watching Carl and Stuart on Most Haunted throw things around again. Its a load of pish, but a guilty pleasure when I'm in the mood of it!
Bet you the scariest thing you saw that day was Stuart, imagine bumping into him in the dark!We had them where I work, it was a bit surreal sitting at my desk looking after Most Haunted!

Haha good old Derek, gotta love him; 'Mary loves Dick!'I had to take them down to a dark cellar so I'm surprised I wasn't possessed by Satan or whatever else usually happens . We've had Derek Acorah too, think I've had the full gambit of well known TV ghost folk! Just need Zak Bagans to complete the set.
