I'm chuffed with the three points from Gillingham away. Grinding one out with limited personnel is very encouraging.

Agonising finish with the rightly disallowed for offside, but didn't need the touch in as I think Wagstaff's original shot was heading in the botton corner.
Poor performance from the officials. The tone was set by them in the first 30 seconds when the referee completely missed a clear handball from Wright's volley and the Gordon Road side linesman allowed Jones to get away with pulling Lacey's shirt all game, including for the first goal.
We were poor first half, had plenty of chances second half to equalise.
1-1 would have been a fair result

That's not correct ...you know you were in League 2 in 2010

2004/5, 2007/08 and 2009/10 were the 3 seasons in question.

Disagree with most of this, it is very rose tinted. Although I agree Reeves could have gone on first view, but I'd have to see it again. Yours was a red contact or not, two footed lunge of the ground with studs showing not sure how you can argue, lucky there was minimal to zero contact as if he'd not got out of the way it could have been a leg breaker. Not sure where all these chances second half were, I remember a free header from a corner and the disallowed goal nothing else of note.

Could have been a draw, but just as easily could have been 2-0 but for a terrible miss. Also do you own a lawnmower? The grass needs a cut.

Ahh so football isn't even a contact sport anymore. Wilkinson slid in, not to tackle Dieng but to block the clearance, like many players do every game to defenders and goalkeepers clearing long. The reaction from Dieng was disgraceful. Throwing himself to the ground seconds after the challenge had gone in, staying on the ground clutching his leg until the card was shown, then getting back to his feet and sprinting down the line.
Free header wide in the first half, along with Parker forcing a smart save from Doyle. Second half, Parker put a good chance wide from a cross, Wright and Nash put free headers over and then the disallowed 'goal'.

Agree regarding the pitch, hasn't been good since Tony Provan left as head groundsman.

Reeves should've gone first half, no question in my mind over that one. No issues with our red, the way he went in made it easy for the referee, but Dieng cheating was quite unnecessary. We did have more openings, but not enough on target which is going to be our problem all year unless addressed. The 'goal' at the end looked more offside than not from my angle (level with the 6 yard box) but I must admit I wasn't overly sure one way or the other at the time. Defence looked relatively solid throughout, and Bradford didn't really create too much all day despite having a decent amount of the ball.

Poleon's miss was funny, his annual goal against us less so.

I don't disagree with your thought process on the tackle, but by the laws it's a red. If you leave the floor with studs showing it's a red regardless of contact, poor by Dieng but last year we were far to honest. This season already we seem to be more aggressive in a tackle and take part in gamesmanship, which I'm glad about as every other team does it. Them chances you mention are standard chances throughout any game, the free header was the only real danger, the only time I panicked anyway but you'd have to ask other City fans, I really felt we were in danger except from long throws.

Well that just isn't true. There is no law stating if you leave the floor with studs showings it's a red regardless of contact.
Funnily enough, also disagree regarding our long throws. Thought they were all too samey and didn't get far enough into the box.

Dieng might not have even played today had the ref not sent Vincelot off on Tuesday for a debatable one, swings and roundabouts with regards to poor officiating at this level.

If that's true there should have been about ten sendings off in this and probably every game. Players were constantly sliding in to block defenders clearances and when you slide in your studs always show to some extent. That's all it was.

Doyle was as bad as Dieng, coming over and making a gesture to the ref insinuating Wilkinson had gone over the top which, considering the TV shows daylight between the players, is laughable.

It all seemed particularly unnecessary as Bradford had been the better team from the start. We were beginning to build up a bit of pressure and that was our best phase of the game but I suspect Bradford would still have held on with 11v11 as we had not created enough chances. As it is, we will never know.

From the TVs highlights I've seen there's no evidence of clear daylight.Infact you hardly see anything other than the Gillingham player flying in like he's Bruce Lee

Ffs "day light"?! Considering what looks to be a window frame that blocks the camera from showing the impact clearly, all you properly see for 100% is the lad launching in, red card given for dangerous play as much as anything.

I was quoting Pennock who said it was picked up by one of the camera angles he has seen (presumably a different one). As you say, the Sky Sports and You Tube cameras do not pick it up at all as the incident is obscured by part of the stand. It happened straight in front of where I was sitting so I know the fact of the matter and Diengs lack of even the faintest limp when he got to his feet is further evidence that no contact was made.

I don't see the point of an appeal as it is all about interpretation of intent. Only Wilkinson knows whether he was trying to foul the player and just missed or was just trying to get a block on the clearance which he achieved.

Intent or not (I don't imagine he's set out to hurt Dieng), it's the recklessness that seems to have done for him

Seen many red card incidents in my time for and against my side but I can't remember seeing a single one that actually resulted in someone snapping their leg or something along those lines (thankfully). Vast majority resulted in no injury at all. It doesn't make them not red cards.

Worst injuries I've seen are usually freak accidents, John Egan snapping his leg and Chicksen last Saturday spring to mind.

I think you may need to check again. 09/10 we were in League One, Bradford were League Two. 10/11, we were both in League Two.
