I don't think he'd start for us if we went up.

I'm not even convinced he'll start for us next season. The odd flashy goal here and there doesn't mask the fact he's been a part of a midfield which has struggled for most of the season.

I think he's better than that (although I agree with you about his role if we went up). He's been a square peg in a round hole for the last few seasons. This season he's been part of a midfield three that didn't settle on its personnel until the least few months of the season and had to accommodate both him and Harris, who want to do similar things. It was badly missing a specific type of player that we just didn't have.

If we keep him on, then I hope you're right. There is a chance he could very well push on with better players around him. You do get the impression that a Brad Walker type in that midfield could transform them into one of the league's better midfield 3. It would allow Davies and Young more time on the ball further up the pitch which ideally is where we want them.

obviously it is long while since he played for us, but I always rated him in terms of skill. he was, at that stage, possibly not quite up to the physical rough and tumble of league 2. though he did play nearly 100 games for us. We were also a very poor team badly affected by administration and lucky to stay in the division. Not the best atmosphere to shine for a youngster. Based on what I saw, I always thought he would have a league 2/1 career. Shows what I know.
