What?? Am I missing the joke here?

He was the best player on the pitch for Rovers ffs? If it wasn't for him, we would've won by 5 at least. He made two outstanding saves first half. Could've done better with the second goal but questions should be asked of the defenders there, personally.

I have no idea where this notion of us being poor has come from either. We were decent today. We battered Rovers from start to finish. Fought for every loose ball, didn't back out of tackles and generally had all the things we've been lacking for a good while now.

19 shots, 11 on target, Ward made 9, yes, NINE saves. They had 2 shots, 0 on target. Yet we were poor, apparently.
I agree. I don't think we looked poor. We've been beaten by much poorer sides than we were today. We'd have beaten a lot of other teams in this league today.

Agreed that the keeper made a good save first half but he was crap on both goals and looked like a little boy. I would not be happy if he was in our nets. He also punched a couple of times when an easy catch would have been preferable.

How many of those shots were actually challenging? Five at least? Try not to get carried away mate, you won 2-0. Next up you’ll be claiming you’ll win the league next year.

You were organised and fought hard. You were decent, but let’s not get carried away.

As for ourselves, we were diabolical. 0 goals in 4 games and conceded 10.

Enjoy your 3 points, but know that every other team who needs them in the relegation battle will also get them from us. As did Fleetwood & Burton.

Thought Orient were a bit of a weird side, I don't really know what style of play they were going for. They outnumbered us in midfield so were tidy in possession at times and played out from goal kicks but only passed sideways - anything that went forward was either overhit, a long throw or a set piece. They had enough about them to keep us on our toes but aside from one shot that Jenson tipped around for a corner and a header over the bar, I can't remember too much? It all broke down too often just as they got into the final third. Their number 8 was excellent in the '6'.

You know how you were before Xmas with zero strikers? Well our system is reliant on wingers and ours are all injured. And when we do create chances Dan Agyei is injured. Best centre back? Injured. Best midfielder? Carted off against youse today and out for the season. Wellens is performing miracles tbh.

im not getting carried away, ive said weve been poor-dreadful all season and was posting on here when we were second that i wasnt convinced...but we battered you from start to finish with a 17 year old and ryan loft up front.

i dont think you could have complained at 5-0 realistically although we don't have the finishers to do that. we were anything but poor yesterday. to limit a team to not even a sniff at goal is good going for anyone. creating a hatful of chances at the same time.

youve earnt the right to put a few shitters in though when you reached 50 points. we wont reach that and although we gave ourselves a chance with 2 wins we are still odds on to be relegated, this result doesnt mean anything other than over 90 minutes yesterday, we played a lot better than you.

Just a shout out for Baylee Dipepa. Ripped it up for the England under 17's whilst playing alongside Man City and Liverpool youngsters and then scored a superb goal today. We've got a real talent on our hands.

Id have to disagree, you have played the worst 2 performing teams in a row. We on the other hand would have got beaten by pretty much any league 2 side yesterday.
I hope you do go down now as we save our worst performances for Vale Park in the past 2 seasons :ffs:
Dan is on the beers if he thinks Vale battered us though.

To be fair I wasn’t there but from stats and highlights it looked one way, great goal by Dipepa who’s really stepped up to the plate lately and is a big plus. Sounds like Plant had a great game as well so good to see the kids doing well.

Did I read that Evatt was having a whinge about the supporters or something yesterday? Or having a thinly veiled pop?

ffs dont remind me there is another game on Monday. We have conceded 10 and scored 0 in the last 4 games now (1 amazingly being a clean sheet) so you can fill your boots
Cheer up mate you're sounding like the PV fan

I absolutely would have complained. You were better all over the pitch, but to win by 5 goals you have to have a minimum of 5 chances where you should have scored. The only one I can think of where you actually should have scored was Lofts 1:1, that was a terrible finish.

I don’t want to take anything away from you, limiting a team to no shots on target is impressive. But I must say, I think that was our own doing rather than yours.

Agree, you did play a lot better than us. You were streets ahead of Fleetwood (god knows how was only took a point from them this season), so hopefully that’s a good sign. But we do have Shrewsbury on Monday and I apologise in advance that we will not be helping you out I’m afraid

Shrewsbury are appalling. I'm still scratching my head as to how we obtained 0 points from them. I think you'll win.

I'm the last person to get carried away. I'm simply commenting on the 90 minutes from Friday's game. We reset our focus on tomorrow now at Northampton and what has happened in the previous two games becomes completely irrelevant.

Are you okay? Loft's effort that was blasted wide? The outrageously good save that he made tipping it over the bar first half? The point blank save he made on the goal line preventing a certain goal? The header just wide in the second half? The effort Chislett had where he worked his way into the box but didn't get the connection right and should've bent it into the opposite corner? Probably missed others too.

Wellens is a lively fella in the dugout, right jack in the box, nearly on the pitch a few times.
Don't normally notice the dugouts as I sit the opposite side of the ground, always fun to watch the two dugouts after each decision
Rotherham when Warne was in charge were probably the liveliest, had a designated member of the coaching staff to complain to the fourth official, hilarious

Bristol Rovers away.

We’ve seemed to do well at the Memorial Ground in recent years, hopefully we’re good for atleast another point on the board, especially with how poor the Gas seem to be at this moment in time. Think we’ll rotate a few players from Friday’s game, maybe games for Sraha, Bennett, Sobowale and Bowman. Might be too soon for Jack Price to get his first start.

We played well on Friday and if we put in a similar level performance, I back us to get 3 points. Think Rovers will get a reaction from Friday though.

He beat me back to the train station after the match as he was heading up north.

Wait so because you had a couple of shots that missed the target comfortably, and completely missed connection with the ball - you should have won by 5+?

Only chance I was concerned at was Lofts terrible shot in the 2nd half.

I’m not sure if you’ve just been so starved of decent football (until Saturday) or you’re just on a weekend long bender, but you can’t be expecting every single shot as a guaranteed goal. Personally I do expect our GK to actually save some shots

Goalless draw with Bolton, low quality game, lacking in entertainment, stark contrast to the game up there earlier this season. Draw was probably about fair but we missed an absolute sitter to win it fairly late on.

I know you can't say we're out of the play-off contention being just one point off the play-offs but just don't think we'll make it. Winless in March, been poor for most of 2024 in truth and seem to have forgotten how to score, scoreless in 4 of our last 6.

Hitting the post, keeper making a few good saves, uche fluffing his lines when through on goal whilst also being fouled, Loft had two one on ones, he put one wide and got the ball stuck under his feet allowing the defender to get a toe on it, plus a powder puff header straight into the keepers arms. That's not including the two goals we scored.

we could and should have scored a lot more than the two we got.

Congrats!

Just starved of the food football then  Congrats mate!

Well done Sir - not sure I could be so disciplined.

You`ve been watching the Vale sober? Hats off to you, youth.

Cheers fellas.

It was one of two choices I had to make. Let it destroy my life and my spiralling mental health, and potentially ruin my relationship with my son. OR, step up, prioritise my boy and get rid of the stuff and battle through the other side with my head held high.

I know I post or have posted daft things on here in the past but it's just banter and a laugh between likeminded football fans who love our clubs. No malice from my part. I'm a decent lad and a terrific Father. I'd say I'm winning in life really. :)
