Still Carlisle v Crawley to be played on Tuesday which might slightly alter a few positions but not significantly.

Time for our goal difference to take a pounding on Friday.

Both of our games are dead rubbers. It's incredibly unlikely us or Carlisle will make the play-offs or get relegated, we're just fulfilling fixtures now.

Crawley still could make the play-offs but I can't see it happening either.

We don't really look like battering anyone. Although it would certainly be welcome for our goal difference.

Hopefully we can get one early. Any chance you do anything other than sit back for a 0-0? Seemed to be an open game v Tranmere.

It is interesting that although Bolton and Cambridge are in the strongest form of the promotion contenders, Cheltenham and Tranmere are the only two teams for whom both automatic promotion and the title are entirely in their own hands.

It should be a decent game on Friday and it is one we possibly need to win.

That’s not correct. Only Cheltenham can go above us if all games in hand are won.

Its in the hands of all the top 6. Outside of them its unlikely one if any will be in the top 3.

The title is not in your hands if you win all your remaining games. I said automatic promotion and the title.

It is still in our hands because we play both Cambridge and Cheltenham.

And automatic is in our hands too because of Tranmere’s next 2 games. Where some the top 3 have to drop points. Haha. Quite a few big games left in the top 7/8 against each other.

Is that the case ? Maximum points Cheltenham 92 Cambridge 91 Tranmere and Bolton 90 On Friday Cheltenham play Tranmere so one of you lose control. unless you have analysed all the head to heads then i think that's wrong. feel free to prove your point. The only team at this point who have the title in their own hands would be Cheltenham.

Got a feeling we will beat Salford.

And 5/1 to do it is very generous in my opinion.

If Tranmere beat Cheltenham and Cambridge they can only get 89 and 88 points respectively. We could still beat them to top by outscoring them and winning all our games, but no one will win them all anyway.

Be an interesting challenge for our recent upturn in form against Exeter. Realistically they need the win far more than we do but now we have a little momentum it would be good to keep it going as long as possible. At least now under DC we look a difficult team to beat which we were certainly not before.

Will say a 2-1 win for Vale.

How can a Grimsby side in better form than Salford be 5/1 yet Colchester, who have won once(?) in nearly half a season be 4/1 at a Bolton side who've won so many on the spin?

I've not done the maths, but his point is that right now, only Tranmere and Cheltenham have the title in their own hands.

That changes on Friday because one of us won't have it in our hands. If Tranmere were to lose to Cambridge, then it would also change again. However right this second, only ourselves and Tranmere have the title in our own hands.

Salford unbeaten at home and solid defensively against Grimsby who are not scoring many goals this season, is say 5/1 is about right.

Bolton should beat Colchester though. See how the odds settle as the week progresses.

Toughy at home to Exeter, always tricky but hopeful of another positive result with our vast improvement under DC, we look back to our early season best with Manny, Wozza and Monty back and actually being organised.

That said I can’t remember the last time we won four on the bounce so probably a draw here 1-1 although a win probably gets us over the line.

The Holy one to come off the bench and score on his return.

Saturday was probably the best performance of the season in terms of overall performance so more of the same please. We do seem to be getting better week on week under DC as more of his ideas and fitness improvements bear fruit.

It will be an interesting one. After an ugly and undeserved win we may see this as an opportunity to restart the promotion push. The manager has been chopping the team around, dropping players who he feels haven't done enough, even Bowman. This should give them enough incentive. And Williams played the last ten minutes on Saturday so things are looking up.
But you are on a run as well so it will probably be a 1-1

Yep i can see that now but it's academic because of the clash on Friday that changes the dynamics come Monday evening and we will be having a whole new conversation. I will take 4 points to stay well on track.

We have Mansfield (A) and Walsall (H) - both very winnable and if we want to keep pushing for 7th we have to take at least 4 points to keep our hopes going.

We've made less mistakes since McAnuff has taken charge and we did play with more confidence against Oldham on Saturday.

Apart from playing Cambridge and Cheltenham we have a favourable run in on paper. Be interesting to see if our players who are once again punching above their weight can keep grinding wins out, 4 weeks ago we was just bumbling along slowly to the end of the season.

From what I’m reading above from Cheltenham, Cambridge, Bolton and Tranmere fans... We’ve won the league.

Happy Days! We’re too good for this tinpot league anyway.

Yes, if goal difference swung in your favour, you could technically finish above us if both clubs won all of their games.

As you say, it won't happen so it was only an academic point really.
