Sigh, well it's time we BEAT these fuckers or we have to at least not get beat off them and their potato field of a football pitch for once. Newport County could try growing some vegetables on their so called pitch and sell them in the market to help their financial troubles, it might not be much but it's still a profit and it gives them an excuse for having such a terrible pitch.

They are our bogey team and every game we seem to play now sets us up for our unbeaten run to end in some way or another and this one does that too. So for fucks sake Carlisle, DO NOT GET BEAT against this joke of a club.

Where is Baz and the other Newport County fans? Are they still knocking about on here?

10/10 Carver, and much better than your fellow Cumbrians' rather pathetic efforts at starting threads. You should do this more often I think.

Way to go Carvs :10:

Speaking of Westley, did anyone else see his awkward pitch side interview with Clem on BBC Final score yesterday?

What? Was the joke that bad? Well I thought it was funny you tedious piece of shit.

You loved my Carver v Mowgli thread title for the Wycombe match though, right?

Well if my attempts to educate the masses rather than just insult the opposition are considered pathetic then I propose we allow Carver and his faulty caps lock button to create all our future fred titles.

As for the game... I just really really hope we win, we've slipped up on Newport before and don't want to do it again. But Westley *shudders*

They've been trying that already, but John Parkin keeps eating them.

They are our bogey team

I would probably disagree with the term 'bogey team' since we've only played them 4 times since they reformed. They may have beaten us those four times but I still don't think four games over two seasons is enough to say bogey team, after all the first of those seasons they were pretty good, and we were shit, and the second half of last season we were shit too, it was only that one game at Brunton Park last year that really went against the form books, and shite it was too, hope it doesn't happen again.

Parkin doesn't eat vegetables FFS. Just small children.

That match was a disgrace by how complacent we were and they had one chance and took it. Terry bloody Butcher beat us, oh the shame!

I've got a dodgy feeling about this game, it's just set up perfectly for Westley to end our unbeaten start.

It seems like we serve up our worst performances against Newport, and the fact it's 2nd v 24th just makes an upset more likely. And then if Curle wins Manager of the Month... :animatedf:

This side is different, to be fair, and several players are in top form and the goals are flying in. I don't think a draw would be terrible, but hopefully we manage another victory.

Even a pessimist like me doesn't think we'll lose this game.

We really shouldn't. It's kind of gamblers fallacy to focus on the end of an unbeaten run, like thinking that a coin that has come up heads three times in a row is somehow more likely to come up tails next. But the fact we're unbeaten should have no bearing on the outcome of this game, like any other game it will be determined by a combination of nous, skill, fitness, attitude and luck and we should easily shade Newport in the first two of those and I'm confident our attitude is much better than it was last season too.

I don't think I've predicted a loss apart from Pompey this season, it's just one I've had an eye on the last few weeks. I don't think we'll lose but maybe draw, hopefully win mind.

Now I never said we'd win. So I could still be pessimistically predicting a dull, dire shit fest of a 0-0 draw. You'll have to wait until Thursday when I post my actual prediction. Then you'll know if we're in real trouble!

To be honest at the moment we're not that sort of classic Carlisle team who are going to blow it to whatever hoodoos we face. I have faith in this team now and when we do finally lose I'm sure it will only be to a better team on the day or an awful referee and not because of some shit and gutless performance.

We'll win 1-0 having struggled to perform on the Somme and against Westley's artillery fire but will be thankful that on one of the few occasions we do get over the Newport trenches, Jason Kennedy is there to bundle a scrappy goal in.

We are now four games unbeaten. Wezzer's effect on the squad has been remarkable. The pitch was looking interesting and it's going to rain on Saturday. I smell an upset.

Well it probably says something that I approach this game with more trepidation than I did Doncaster away.

Football played on muddy pitch shocker.
Pitch drainage is fecked. Stop whinging like bitches and get on with it. Surely a team of your quality will be able to cope. Think yourself lucky you've only got to play / watch 1 game on it this season unlike us poor feckers.

It'll probably be called off as there is heavy rain expected on Saturday.

If you get relegated this season your club won't be missed thanks to your pathetic excuse for a pitch

I don't know, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if we lost especially if it means trouble for you lot.

I don't think it'll be a problem, we've shown promise at the physical and the finessed sides of football in places this season, if Saturday is a game where the opposition will need outmuscled and we need to go long then so be it. We've played that way against a few teams this seasons and the times we have opposition fans have complained about us being a big physical anti-football team, they don't say that about teams who don't know how to mix it. Newport's home record is dreadful so it's clearly not working to their advantage.

We must have them rattled if we are getting gratuitously twattish comments like this. Who has rattled this rusty cage? Let's keep it pleasant shall we Carver?
