Regardless of ticket prices, I think fans of any club can expect better than 3 wins in 14 which Grayson delivered after been in the playoffs none stop for the previous 18 months.

We sold around 19,000 season tickets last season, so double the pricing and half the numbers sold it would still be 9,500 at £300, way above what most bring in at this level. Plus we sold an estimated 15,000 shirts which is probably more than everyone outside the top 2 leagues.

We’ve got a mid table budget as I’ve mentioned numerous times even with no investment. Money comes in and gives us a mid table budget, hardly peanuts. We generally run on an even keel and don’t get into any sort of debt because of our past which is what I’d want really. Would be great if someone came in and said they were going to drop millions on us with no expectation of return but it’s not happening.

Swings and roundabouts with the fans, would rather have the stadium full of families building a support for the future than be like Cov last few seasons, a few thousand hardcore knocking about in a massive ground worrying about how their club’s being run into the ground. As you said we’ve had that before and it was fucking shit. Also think you’re deluded if you don’t think that’s the way that football is going.

Who says we have no money, though?

We spent £700k last season on fees and player development - along with having a budget that some describe as poor, when in actual terms, it’s still relatively competitive. Shrewsbury’s playing budget was half the amount of ours.

Before a ball has even been kicked, we pay £365k per season for stadium rent. Our pitch, at present, is undergoing major work which will cost circa £300k.

It’s not as if we don’t have money - we just spend it wisely due to the reasons mentioned above.

I remember this WUM from last season now, talking shite because you might have your first decent season in your life time. Better than what Coventry have been turned into, which is a nothing club which Accrington Stanleys stadium would be more suitable for you than your soulless bowl.

Bradford is still considered a decent away unlike Reading, I'd say you are more like them with an identikit stadium out of town with the only redeemable feature being a casino.

Damn. he's gone. I've just registered and live near Coventry (thankfully not in it) so was going to pose him some tricky questions. I always found it strange that as a premiership clu,b living in as town nearby, you never saw Coventry shirts. Lots of Villa, Tottenham, usual suspects but not many Cov. They have lost a few generations of supporters. May question the season ticket price at Bradford but we have captured a number of young fans which is sustainable long term
