That FGR forum must be one of the most witless places on the internet. You could gather all the collective brains on there and fit them on the end of a single pubic hair. They seem to have a problem with near enough any spectators that would stick out during a Good Friday prayers in a nunnery. Unless it's their stewards or staff of course, who run the damn village.

You obviously haven't read the regular poetry contributions on the FGR Forum, witless it is not. If you want brainless just read some of the spelling and sentence construction further up this thread.

To be fair if you were judging purely on the thread referred to on the FGR forum about Grimsby, you've probably captured the majority of our 3-4 morons in one thread.

That is the thing about FGR supporters: not many morons, even fewer thugs/racists/etc..(although 1 paedo it would seem), but mainly dull middle-aged to elderly, middle class patrons. Which coincidentally is why our away following isn't big (our crowds are majority aged 50+ or <20, not many in that 20-40 age bracket). I mean it's the Cotswolds for f-sake!

I know a number of people who post on that forum, wouldn't call any of them morons. Some of those posting on that thread are amongst our most committed long term fans.

I echo the point about the Rovers forum, I have met a few people who post on there and most have struck me as being pretty decent, the sort you would happily share a few pints with.

One comment on the subject of Grimsby, from a poster called Silver Surfer, which hardly sounds like a spotty youth:

It is probably the same story as at many non-league clubs. A core of down to earth ordinary football fans and a few sad individuals with anger management issues.

That seems a pretty well reasoned, and sound, judgement...describes most of our clubs doesn't it!

Absolutely, I would definitely agree, perhaps I have made an unfair slur on those posting on that thread. Just making the point we have very few morons.

I suggest ChrisSWFC puts his own house in order first. Nailsworth is a disgusting place inhabited by vile racists: http://www.stroudnewsandjournal.co.uk/news/10444671.display/

Not a lot on which to base such a damning assertion but to be fair it's more than the tit has ever produced to substantiate his own mud slinging. :obama:

Difficult to control what idiots post online in private. Not so difficult to stop people shouting racist insults in public, instead of ignoring them or even joining in. Two very different things that say a lot about the by standers/local population.

I know as a fact that anyone using racist language would not be tolerated here, and would be reported and dealt with immediately. No arrests or public banning orders issued in 20 years at our matches tells you everything you need to know.

The only thing you know as a fact is that people are the same everywhere. Halifax, Nailsworth, Grimsby, China, England, Brazil, Pakistan. To take the stance that your six fingered inbred village of the damned is somehow different and in some way superior to every other place on earth is frankly absurd, and nobody is buying it. :fart: :fing:

One of our media men wrote a poem about our first cup run in the glue leagues. It was so poor you could've called him Mr Shankly and stuck him in a Smiths song. One of Southport's lot wrote some fairly touching doggerel in their programme the other season though. I think most of our fans would be scared to show their poetic side, though even Wayne Rooney tells us he's got one.

I've mainly read threads on there concerning Halifax Town's plight as chance would have it, seemed to be the same handful of people with this awestruck attitude towards having an eight-figure sporting venture thrown into their laps. Maybe an unrepresentative sample on second thoughts, but my word.

Our demographic probably isn't too different to that description really. Maybe less plummier voiced and struck down by the bug when we finished above Aston Villa.

I'd willingly take anyone on a sightseeing tour to see the most moronic FCHT fans. BUT WOULD I DARE?

Chris isn't saying that at all, what he is saying is that we've never heard racist abuse at The New Lawn in all the years we've been there (well I certainly haven't), unlike some other grounds. There is a fact for you.

Two more fingers each clearly makes us better, piano playing at least. More banjo country round your way I understand.

As I understand the reference, banjos are more commonly associated with isolated, rural communities. On the face of it, Nailsworth is as neat a fit as could be imagined. Once described as "the most musical town in England" and as an large industrial town in a major connurbation, your comment rings rather hollow aimed at Halifax. You can have another go if you like but if "banjos" the best you've got, an early night would be my advice. :bdick:

That'll be the large industrial town in a major conurbation regularly getting lower crowds than the village side? Staying home twanging their banjo strings I expect.

Clearly a demand in the area. I'd imagine B2TF pays regular visits to this place, on the odd venture out of his basement. (It's in Huddersfield, but close enough.)

Well I've heard it. There's another "fact" for you. Nobody else heard it of course but I certainly did and that should be good enough for anybody. Admittedly I can't produce a video where somebody might be saying something racist but nobody can actually work our what is being said but I'm sure there will be one out there on Youtube somewhere anyway. :woot:

Are you coming to TNL in April B2TF? If you do I and probably a few others would be more then happy to meet up have a pint and have a proper conversation about the merits of our club, rather then mud slinging on here.

Seeing what a credit our club is to the local community might make you change your views.

Its mostly down to the vile heap that the BNP and derivatives are and went about their tactics TBF. FGR werent much supportwise when they were recruiting big time, the recruiting drive was well fabled and generally was much bigger in Citys and some towns especially Northern, again for various reasons. It horrible to see that there STILL are BNP type posters appearing in toilets in grounds, all should be flushed to join the originators who I assume must be in the same cess pit .
Theres a lot of (Mostly) folklaw but some written about some clubs supporters and the way they shoved the BNP out, quite literally in one case I know. Sadly for whatever of many reasons that didnt happen at some clubs support . It would be different, very different if it was. I really wouldnt like anyone to claim that FGR is free of the vile oiks because we arent racist and others are, mainly it reflects activity at historical times in a clubs support and development.
What really does amaze me is how anyone can barrack a player on racial grounds- seems totally bizarre, when almost every team has a great many of the fans favourites and legends over at least 40 years now who are what the BNP want to eliminate :box:.

Are we being allowed in The Green Man next Friday. Went in there the last three times I've been to TNL but not sure what your stance will be now that we're all troublemakers,

I'm watching grimsby later after work what can I expect? Racism, inflatables and constant moaning?

Sure you can expect history tradition and decent gates rather then a high budget blockbuster that will flop once the investor pulls his money out of the film

So this thread started as Grimsby player racially abused, and ends up people slagging off each others towns and their inhabitants, getting rather tiresome now i think.

Locked. Totally agree with GTFCFish. Thinks this thread has run its course.
