What I don't get with FGR is 80+ minutes in, 1-0 down and the keeper and back 4 are pratting about with the ball back and forth nearly getting caught out, just hoof it like you did at the end and suddenly I was worried, when the keeper came up for the corner I was waiting for it to go 1-1.

Cos we like to stick to our footballing principles, whatever the score. We're the Man City of league 2, just not as good.

I don’t say this lightly but FGR’s first half performance is the worst I’ve seen in several years. Really peculiar tactics of passing the ball out to CBs who were being man-marked. Thought the keeper was poor in general. Struggled to pass the ball as a team but they played much better after the sending off but still only had 1 serious chance in the second half. It was like that Simpsons episode where they all riot at the football match. Thought the sending off was harsh but after learning it was a second yellow, I think it was acceptable.

As for us, we were knocking on the door for most of the game but we were so, so wasteful. Shite penalty but Rose is pretty good at being in the right place. Play like we did in the first half next week and we may have a chance. Play like the second half and we’re getting beat, simple as. Luke Summerfield continues his transformation into one of the best centre mids in the division after being discarded by many, me included. Consistently our best player this season.

I accept with Paul Haddock's accessment that FGR were poor in first half but suspect it is hype when he claims worst he's seen for a few years.
If FGR were that bad, Grimsby should have scored more than just one disputed penalty.
PH should have read that FGR were without 6 first teamers and that we were expecting the worst.
2nd half, after the three FGR subs, different game altogether with either team getting chance to score.
And to be honest I was proud of my team: 60 minutes with just 10 players and last ten minutes playing with virtually 9 [Iocavatti was injured but stayed on pitch] and we prevented Grimsby scoring during that time.

Christ, calm down. I haven’t seen worse since the Conference and even then, I haven’t ever seen such weird tactics. Also, why would I know who your first teamers are?

I already said we were wasteful - could've and should’ve had a couple more. FGR were much better after the red card but don’t let pride get in the way of a toothless performance.
