Frealaf/Clarkey I say this often to far too many, don’t be surprised the league position, the number of defeats and goals conceded tells anyone all they need to know. In December league tables don’t lie you really shouldn’t be surprised :lac:

Put me down as officially worried :err:as that’s only 2 maybe 3 players away from our best side we can put out. A 2-1 defeat wouldn’t do much damage to confidence, 4-0 against a side like Town does#stained?

Definitely the kind of game where the result on paper makes us sound like we played better than we actually did. But still, 3 points in the bag. Really do hope County sort themselves out. I do quite like them!

Thought we were awful today, couldn't string two passes together and kept gifting possession back to County.

The fact we still won 4-0 tells you all you need to know about how good County are.

They are the worlds oldest club though frealaf, so as they won something in 1895 they’re alright on how things are today. Apparently history matters.

Adam, haven't you got your own match to talk about, please don't turn another thread into Mansfield v Notts, it gets boring quick.

Not long till Christmas then you can also have a nice Grimsby v Mansfield thread to participate in.

Haha. Fair enough. Enjoy your win pal.

I’m sure you’ll dick us too. You always do

Adam I’m interested when did you first watch a Mansfield town game and become a Stags fan ?

Play like today and I doubt we will be winning against any half decent side.

You will against us, a competent side against us at Blundell park, I’m sure you’re fans will love to end our unbeaten away record.

Anyway pal, have a good Xmas

In a return to football, I like Ardley, but I am extremely pissed off that we are still refusing to play last season’s back four (one of the best in the league!) in favour of the absolute clowns that are Jamie Turley and Elliot Ward.

A well-needed 3 points as we have a tough spell of games coming up (Vale and Exeter away and Mansfield at home, followed by Palace away). County seem like us early season, decent with the ball but can’t defend and can’t attack. I’m glad that we’re also finally clawing back some goal difference too.

Last season's back four was leaking towards the end of the season Jacob and hopeless at the beginning of this. I'm afraid we need some new players, this lot aren't going to keep us up.

I know everyone thinks this, but it isn’t true - we conceded fewer goals in the second half of last season (post-Yates, if you like) than we did in the first half. We weren’t exactly leaking goals towards the end either - we conceded 12 in our last 12 league games, a really good record. What fucked us at the end of last season was that we stopped scoring, our defence was still fine.

Beginning of this season point accepted, mind, but they were dumped after FOUR games, in which we’d conceded 12 goals. That’s like vintage Italy compared to the shite that’s followed.

We didn't play that well today to be honest but Notts defence was atrocious. Might be a bit worried if I were a Notts fan though as we didn't have to get out of first gear today and Notts could be this season's Chesterfield.

Les we know this. Most of us watch most weeks. We are living it like Grimsby, Chesterfield , Mansfield and Lincoln have done in the past. We are surely a mixture of worried, concerned, resigned and near suidical.

I’m concerned , too many goals against all season and that usually results in relegation. Players don’t care collectively never a good thing.

Just seen the goals. Jesus wept, it’s like we were running a experiment to see what football would be like if there weren’t keepers. Turley’s shit, but he could be forgiven for sparking Fitzsimons out rather than a gentle push.

Yep against a team that could defend we wouldn’t have scored at all yesterday, not sure what the fuck your keeper was doing for the 3rd one either, didn’t realise at the time but by he just stood there and watched the ball go straight through him.

I take your point Jacob but Jones has had a catastrophic loss of form, Tootle hasn't got going at all this season, Brisley is not the man he was this time last season and Duffy is not a man you want in your corner when things are going badly.
Fitz has also been hit and miss, didn't do well at all yesterday ,poor start to the season. The replacements came from non league and Ben Hall hasn't played at all and it adds up to a collective defensive disaster.
Also the midfield hasn't offered any real cover all season . To be honest the more dispassionately you look at it the more relegation looks nailed on without a change of players.

No Notts fans or any league two fan after least season could anticipated that that back four Optipez mentioned would collectively fall away to such a dramatic extent to be almost unrecognisable from last season.

I was a big fan of Brisley and Toots last season but clearly they have been shadows of their former self. Same with Jones who’s only problem last season was injury. Duffy is well Duffy some bad some good.

Should have kept Nolan.

The problem being is they’ve a terrible chairman which is why they are where they are. They’ve been badly ran for years
