It's time for the biggest derby in L2 on Saturday. Also the biggest derby in Lincolnshire.

We are on great form and Grimsby are on terrible form, this means we will obviously lose. We have a terrible record in Derby games, don't think we've won at Blundell Park in an actual competition since the 60s or something stupid like that.

Hanson loves a goal against us and as he hasn't scored since August, I fully expect him to get one here.

Think we will lose 1-0 and the Hurst out idiots will emerge once again

It's an 05:00 Kick Off here in California (we are 8 hours behind the UK). Going to see Santa Friday night, so it's all very exciting for both myself and my grand daughter.

I will be watching via ifollow, must be mad. Just hope it's worth getting up for.

I've come back to this cold wet country for Christmas, so going to the game if it's on, first game at Blundell park this season for me.

Probably lose and wonder why fans ever wanted Hurst out.

I’m bizarrely really looking forward to this now, I was dreading it last week but now I just want to experience a proper edgy atmosphere and its pretty much guaranteed to be one. Also looking forward to my lad getting to experience it as I took him to Lincoln the year Garner and Hearn scored for us but he was too young to remember it so this should be his first real memory of a proper derby game atmosphere and he’s absolutely buzzing for it.

Would LOVE it it Hurst cupped his ear to the Grimsby fans after Scunny win.

Our team news is out and it does not look promising. Missing our best player in Eisa and our starting RB due to injury. Means we're playing a solely left footed LB at RB and a CM at RM or a striker on the LW.

This has derby day humiliation written all over it yet again.

As usual can't finish our tea. Green misses another simple one on one.

Scunny not done anything but we will go on to rue the missed chances.

Terrible first half, we are all over the place due to the injuries so a couple of players are out of position. Highlight of the first half was Grimsby fans taking 5 mins to realise how to turn a flag the right way up.

Wouldn't call them fans, not even watching the game too interested in shouting at your "fans" probably first game they've been too since Lincoln

Not sure how we’re not winning that, Green missed a sitter again and Max Wright hit the post although it was outside of the near post.
Scunny truly awful, Van Veen and Novak look like 2 guys they’ve just taken off the street and asked to play, both look hopeless and quite unfit.
I realise than now one of them will score go and score the winner in the second half.

Rubbish, best team by far but can't score. scunny have one chance and score.

Limbrick doing everything right since Jolley left, we are playing much better and creating chances but when we don't score we can't win. What's that 7 or 8 games without a goal now?

What a fucking win.

How can't Grimsby beat us when we have that many injured and dominate the game? They should really sign a striker who can actually put the ball in the net.

Van Veen is a hero, legendary celebration.

Seem to remember certain Grimsby fans here taunting me with mind the gap earlier this season, that's backfired.

We were poor today. Disjointed and no fluidity. Players playing out of position probably caused it. Missing our main threat wide left in Eisa and it showed. Hurst masterstroke in changing formation after an hour, bringing Ward inside and going to a diamond with him at the top. Immediately, Ward gets the ball, drives forward, great weighted pass to Van Veen, who finished with class.

Grimsby were as I expected, battling, aggressive and looking to push forward. Missed a good second half chance. First half our keeper made a 1-on-1save to keep it out. Town had nothing up top and it cost them.

Poor quality game. Many will say Town deserved at least a point, but sometimes it is the away team that soaks up the pressure, has a few scares, but ultimately scores on a breakaway. 0-1.

Three points towards consolidating a mid table position. Nice Christmas present, if you are a Scunny fan.

Just watched it back and Greens miss isn’t as bad as I first thought as by the time he hits it the keeper has closed the angle right down, would like to see a replay of Rose miss at the end though as from my angle there really was no excuse, absolute sitter but it doesn’t show it on Sky Sports highlights.

I’m well over this result now but my 13 year old lad is still mardy as fuck over it which is exactly how I was at his age, if we lost it would wreck my whole weekend especially if we didn’t deserve it. Hopefully another 20 years or so and he will learn that it’s really not worth it.

Didn’t see it as Scunny soaking up pressure, thought we were dominant for most of the match but we just can’t finish and it can’t go on like this. We should have taken advantage as McArdle and the other CB were hopeless. Meanwhile, Van Veen took his chance well - nice career highlight for him.

Subdued for a derby match I thought. I think most of our fans had zero expectations. I also think we’ll coast until the end of the season and probably finish 21st or more predictably, take up the 1 available relegation spot. Being run on a shoestring is now bearing fruit (once again).

What was the point in Van Veen's celebration? Surely with limbs like that your straight to your own fans rather than run away from them to taunt the Mariners?

He pointed at us to say one minute as he did that and then came back to us. He is a shithouse and that celebration will live long in the memory of every Scunny fan, we all loved it.

Got to love the Grimsby fan trying to act hard over the wall but keeping a nice distance, then pushing the steward away as if he's now being held back from the terribly evil van Veen.
