How you been mate? Haven't see you for ages on 1FF nor Lady Vale or VTID.

Not too bad mate. Have a beautiful 8 month old son now so I've been away for some time.

Yourself?

The 2017/18 final table prediction is going to be interesting this year.
Not everyone can be near the bottom!

Swindon seem to be going for something that is very perfect - in the main, young players, playing lovely tippy tappy football.

Is that the 'vision'? I've only seen them on TV this season, but they seem to be trying to be similar to Crewe for some reason. The Eastleigh FA Cup games were quite boring from a Swindon point of view. Everything was too slow and sideways with little in the way of any physicality either.

Probably my fault I cursed them when I moved from Crewe to Swindon and brought the same problems Crewe faced for years right down to Swindon Town FC...

Nah in all seriousness they're very different scenarios. Developing youth has been our philosophy for years and it has served us very well (even if we've been too over reliant on it at times). Swindon are only doing it to penny pinch for their rotten owner cos he can't be arsed to fund a squad with experienced players in it.

That said the parallels are alarming. Leeches on both boards (Our majority shareholder and their actual owner), crap sideways football (at least when we had Davis) managers that were given far too long before their sackings (Williams is still there now) and two clubs that are genuinely underachieving given where they should be...

Any chance of fucking off back up north then?

Your second paragraph sums it up really. Said he wants to run the club as a business to try and make money. Never made any secret of it. This season we have paid the price for that. So many bad signings that wouldn't cut it in League 2 let alone 1. In his (slight) defence he acknowledged that the recruitment was all wrong and took the blame for it.

This summer will show if he's serious about achieving any sort of success. He's already gotten shot of the woeful Luke Williams so we'll be getting a new manager. A lot of players are out of contract and will be leaving the club giving the new guy a chance to build. Can only hope he's able to identify players he wants to bring in and isn't simply another yes man in Power's world where he does what he wants and won't budge from his 'project' of playing pretty football (see ineffective rubbish) with kids whom he hopes to sell on for big beans.

I'm excited that we get to start again with a new manager and squad for next season but at the same time the overriding feeling amongst fans is that not much will change.

For Powers model to succeed he has to bring in good players and we have to be performing. Let's see how he does this time.

Aaaah league 2.

At least our hopeless manager has gone and hopefully 75% of our sub standard players are gone also.

Next season we start afresh. I hope Mr Power had learnt from his mistakes this season.

Well, he didn't exactly learn from his mistakes from the season before last either, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Unless he is willing to do a U turn on just about everything he thinks about running a football club, we can only expect more of the same.

Dismal time to be a fan.

If we're joint favourites (according to Sky) this league must be alright shite next season!

Don't worry, if they don't win the playoffs the Carlisle boys will be predicting relegation for themselves. Along with the plague, financial meltdowns and the end of the world as we know it

I think it'll end up being Chris Ramsey.

Don't blame me, blame the bookies.

Ha don't worry, nothing against you.

He's having a meeting with the chairman tomorrow about our budget for next season - which is pretty much certain to be top 3 (apparently) so can't see it
