Nope, it was on there yesterday evening. I saw it whilst I was walking to our ground yesterday, it's since been removed having just taken a look.

Dunno, it just seems odd that none of the Villa sites I follow have picked up on it.

Nah, having delved deeper, I'm inclined to say it is fake. No media have picked up on it. No Villa fan sites have picked up on it. Nothing.

Is it?

Had me fooled then, fair enough. It was doing the rounds on Twitter yesterday.

I certainly stand to be corrected, but as of right now, from the digging I've done, yeah, definitely looking fake.

As much as I'd love it to be true it's a definite fake, was doing the rounds yesterday. Reminds me of a picture I saw a while ago...

Not great. No.

But, he's been playing in the worst Villa team in history (this from people who have seen us relegated to the third division ffs), and has had moments where he's shone. Plus he's obviously a proven Championship striker.
I'd be tempted to put a cheeky bet on him top scorer next season. Back in the Championship in a team with some decent service, could get a lot for you

He'll get no service until we get a new owner though. That's the issue.

Larry Ellison, 7th wealthiest man on the planet (how do they work these things out?) - might be a useful bloke to have owning your football club.

If it doesn't fall through, definitely!

Much like a couple of the Norwich fans have said, I'm looking forward to next season. If Rafa stays on, it could be a refreshing year. If he doesn't, I think we could risk falling even further.

What do you think the chances of that are?

Surely, he'll have opportunities to manager elsewhere at a higher level wether that be in England or Europe.

Not a dig, just generally interested what the talk is up there in Newcastle.

No way Rafa will still be there imo. I would say I hope the fuckers don't get Pearson, but it appears our potential new owners want Di Matteo anyway, judging by the way the odds are going at the moment.

Oh not for a second do I think he will if I'm being honest and it's probably naive to think otherwise BUT we've had 'productive' talks.

If we give him full control of transfers as we've promised, his family still live in the north and it's a project providing he took us back at the first time of asking...

But yeah, who am I kidding :dk:
It's surely very unlikely he'll stay isn't it? I read he's in line for the Spanish job?
If you were to go for Pearson, could he work with Ashley? After all Pearson is an extremely 'prickly' character or certainly comes across that way, good Manager though. I would have thought he was a shoe in for the Villa job TBH.

As did most, but as I said, the consortium who appear to be leading the way in terms of a takeover seem to want Di Matteo. There are (supposedly) three different buyers going through due diligence right now though.

With new ownership, I would expect to see Villa competing at the top of the Championship, along with Newcastle. Getting rid of the deadwood high earners might be a problem though.

Honestly, two of the buyers would have no worries about the high earners. We don't become subject to FFP for 2 seasons I don't believe? I don't want us to become another Chelsea/Man City, but it's better than this shit...
