I live just round the corner from Kingsmeadow. Used to watch the dons pretty regularly....

I'm probably going to move to Bromley soon though. Out of the tinpot frying pan into the tinpot fire.

Earlsfield is a lovely place. It's got a nice feel to it and only a shortish hop to Richmond Park. The Leather Bottle is a decent boozer on the way and there's also a really good microbrewery near Wimbledon's new ground. Only 10 minutes train journey from Waterloo too! Cracking away day.
Full of moneyed yummy mummys nowadays, a different place from where I raised my children. I was priced out of the area in 2004.

The Leather Bottle is an amazing pub and what they've done to the garden is pretty damn amazing. You need to spend a fair amount to get a pint though, their prices are eye watering.

If you're thinking of By the Horns, they've closed their outlet and have taken over our stadium pub - home supporters only on matchdays. Sorry.

I am quite glad Wimbledon came down to be honest, after they got out of jail free at our expense in 2019-20.

Yeah it's definitely a well to do place. My mates ground floor one bedroom flat is worth about 600k!

I had a meal at the Leather Bottle last year and ate in one of the outside booths. It was excellent but expensive but I'm self employed so my client paid!

Yes By the Horns. Shame they closed that outlet! I think I'm right in saying that they used to serve pizzas too! Ah well.

I can understand that. If the roles were reversed, I'd feel the same way.
It will be good to visit your ground next season, the only new one for me.

I’m in Chiswick so if we don’t go up I’ll look forward to this one.

Feels like this has been a long time coming for Wombles though, been fighting relegation for a fair few years now

Our 3 bedroom maisonette (rented) in Earlsfield sold for over £800k 7 or 8 years ago. Our current 4 bedroom house- extended with a very large garden in Merton and owned without mortgage is worth just over half that.

We've fought relegation year after year. I see it as a chance to regroup. I wrote this season off a long time ago and despite the club plugging tickets available for tomorrow I've no intention of attending. I don't want to attend a wake.

Well you are making a better fist of it than we did last season, we even finished well behind a basket case (at the time) Swindon side.
There is plenty of room for optimism, as you can see the gas, Swindon and Northampton are doing pretty well after suffering the same fate.

Word of warning to any supporter of the “bigger clubs” in this division who’ll take a big following, get there early. Considering it’s a new stadium it’s been designed horrifically, there is only one turnstile into the away end.
