(except of course you report ST holders even when they don't turn up so your attendances are actually worse than you report)
Not sure where you heard this but it’s absolute bollocks.
Two examples off the top of my head, our last season in non league we sold just over 3000 season tickets yet our home game v Woking after getting hammered at Halifax and loads wanted Hurst out the attendance was 2874.
Then at home to Portsmouth at 2PM our Twitter announced that over 7000 tickets have now been issued for this fixture.
Official attendance: 6560.
If anything our attendances get lied about to make them lower, not the other way around, the Mansfield official attendance on New Years Day of around 5900 an example of being complete shite, loads more than that there including from Mansfield, official figure of about 850 when there were easily 200 odd more than that.

It came from the New Fishy forum so it must have been true!

You're preaching to the converted, we all know our home support isn't great. However, at least when we are doing shite we'll always sell out SB no excuses.

Why didn't we build on our promotion season? Probably because we had a manager who was chomping at the bit to jump ship and a chairman who only offered him rolling contracts. It's easy for you to sit and talk about treading water when you have a progressive board and a the amazing Cowley Bros, however you're in cuckoo land if you think the current Lincoln model is a viable path for everyone. You made a very good appointment with the Cowleys, had a couple of cup runs and did some savvy PR. The importance of those cup runs was massive though. Need I remind you, it wasn't long ago you attempted to copy our Operation Promotion campaign.

LOL at the our city and your town comment too you smug git. It's Lincoln mate, not the fucking Dubai construction boom.
We were doing that a couple of years before you did - we just couldn't get the 'promotion' bit in it!

Started under Holdsworth to pay for overnight stops, then Simpson for the same, Moyses (paid for Callum Howe) and then Cowley (Nathan Arnold and part of Raggett's fee).

R.e. your support, I think this is the main difference between the two Clubs. Grimsby have a very stable home and away support and as a result, don't drop too low but will never get to the attendances we do now whereas our fluctuate in a way that very much mirrors what happens on the pitch and as such, probably have to work harder at the PR and community side of things.

I actually think Fenty etc take your support for granted and, from the outside looking in, don't do enough to kick on when things are going well i.e. after your promotion in 2015/16(?).

Sounds like some people are still really struggling to come to terms with Lincoln actually being a successful club. Long may it continue.

Is the atmosphere ever good for an early kickoff though. Bizarre to say it but the place was bouncing for Newport a few weeks back, that two hours makes all the difference I reckon.

On the other hand, I was back in London by teatime so that's a plus point of an early imo.
2 hours is at least 4 pints, so it makes sense.

What year were Lincoln City formed ?

Atmosphere is great but it’s not as important as things such as the league you play in , league position , home attendance and above all obviously how noisy you are away from home and how many you take ! Naturally
1884

We jointly hold the record for the most seasons in the league without ever being in the top tier (shared with Port Vale). I think I'm right in saying it's 106 years now.

106 seasons then.
We've had 6 spells out of the league, with the last spell being the longest one out.
