Annie Power out of Friday as well, replaced by Vroum Vroum Mag who's 9/4, I believe.

Punchestown's always a graveyard. Waste of time betting there - unless you go for the fresher horses which you might get a price on.

All the big guns are primed for Cheltenham and possibly Aintree (even that throws up some odd results) so by Punchestown they're cooked. You see it year after year after year.

The exception to that rule this season is Douvan, but then he is simply a machine. Next season he may be up against Sprinter Sacre which would be a belter.

Any Currency, who won at Cheltenham has been found to have drugs in its system which means he could lose the win from that particular race. This makes me feel physically sick as the horse that came second I had in my acca... if that horse won I'd have been 200k richer.

It makes me even more physically sick because I cashed out before that race to take the £1800.

If you'd not cashed out I wonder if you would of been given the won

Doubtful. Most bookies will have it in their T&C's that amended results down the line will not be counted for betting purposes and they only settle on the initial given result. Reason being they can't reclaim paid out winnings a couple of months down the line for changed official results.

A few bookies are still deciding on what to do apparently.

My mate had the same bet and didn't cash out til the final race. He's more sick than I am.

He might not be if the bookies pay out

I had a shocker first day, but then Ribchester and a decent return on a super yankee yesterday has me in profit

Backed about 6 winners, all on singles though.
Singles are really the only way to boil the bookies.... that said, if I back 6 winners in a day I'm kicking myself I didn't have them in a multiple :pond:

Lucked out on Friday and Saturday, placed £45 combined stuff and ended up with one win on Revolutionist EW.

Fancied Magical Memory yesterday and had a £30 free bet on it, but he stumbled out the stalls which cost him.

Backed a few winners over Newmarket, didn't get the July Cup though, went for Profitable and Limini nabbed it (who I backed on the Pick 6 no less!). Still, good few days racing.

I went e/w on Profitable too, but Limato won it. I would be very impressed if Limini won a sprint in that company!:hail:

Anything this weekend, spireite_uk?
I've had a go on Psychedelic Funk in the 16.40. Very hard to see that being beat in that race. Other than that, there's loads of races and not a great deal of stand outs for me. Like the chances of Gwafa in the 2.15 though. I think it's one of those days where you can end up getting a bit silly throwing money around and end up losing the lot!

In the Irish Oaks it's difficult to look past the odds on favourite Even Song. But we know how Dettori loves the big occasions and Architecture is a decent filly so would probably be my shout to take on the favourite. What about you, any fancies?

Backed Ibn Malik over a shorter trip and he bombed in the 15:35. Fancied Super Julius in the 16:40 and he finished 5th I think which wasn't too bad. Had Scottish as well but it was part of a treble with the other two so didn't count for much!

1 winner on Saturday, Librisa Breeze at 15:55 at Ascot.

Backed Intisaab at York as well, finished 2nd and but for a poor lane draw probably would have won the thing. Definitely a horse to keep an eye on.

200/1 winner at Wolverhampton this afternoon, only one horse in British racing history priced higher to have won  Anyone have it EW?

Somebody tweeted a copy of their betting slip to At the Races, they'd put 20p on it, netting them £40.

Had no joy at Goodwood today.

Last chance to recover my day is in the 7:20 at Galway where I've had Creggs Pipe, £4 e/w @ 9/1. Been backed into 7's since so I mustn't be the only one who fancies it to do well

Same mate. Backed Home of the Brave, Boynton and Second Wave, all fell short.

I had Boynton, really thought it would challenge. Should have known it wouldn't when Talksport breakfast were backing it

Is that the radio equivalent of Alex Hammond's tip of the day?
