I defended Lambert quite a bit on TFF, given the (lack of) resources he's been given to do his job, but his job appears untenable now. Their utter ineptitude in attack would be acceptable if they remained solid at the back, but now they're not just being beaten by poor teams, they're getting thrashed by the good ones too.

Villa fans can only pray that Lerner finds a way to get out of the club and soon.

Great song, and I think if I was a Villa fan I'd want him gone now too. Villa have decent enough players but the goal scoring record is beyond a joke now

I said on TFF a few months back it was time for him to go, and the games since then have shown it would have been the right decision. The guy is lost, and so are Villa. The problem is Lerner doesn't give a fuck as long as they stay up, so nothing will happen until they're sold or they look certain to go down.

Long may his reign continue. One more candidate to fill up the relegation slots instead of us.

EDIT: I should point out that I don't think they will get relegated, but one can hope.

3 points out of the last 30, 3 goals scored in 10 games, 15 conceded. Villa are going down if they don't get rid

It's a miracle the guy is still the manager, he's been fucking useless for some time. He should count himself lucky that the owner doesn't appear to give a shit about the club anymore, although perhaps the prospect of dropping into the Championship and how that would effect the chances of a sale might force his hand.

Cannot believe he is still there. Still think they can survive under someone else, but they frankly deserve relegation for stinking the Prem out year after year and getting away with it.

Just out of interest, is there a reason why Villa haven't been able to find a buyer? You'd think there'd be options for a club of their size with the facilities already there.

Darren Bent has scored the same number of goals as Aston Villa in 2015.

Statistically, teams that are fighting relegation have a better chance of survival if they sack their manager. The fact Paul Lambert is still in charge at Villa is incredible.

I keep saying it's only a matter of time, but every time I say that he stays put bad performance after bad performance.

Lerner is no longer interested IMHO.

Lerner will not sack him, even if they go down which I think they will. Learner will have more success selling the club (at a lower amount) in the championship as a promotion chasing team rather as relegation scrappers in the Prem. Once the club is sold, a new manager would be likely to be brought in at that point, and going down into the Championship will force Lerner to cut the asking price.

I do feel sorry for Lambert, as the club haven't had close to the investment they need and I certainly don't see this 'decent' squad that a few people have alluded to. I'd say it's a squad that was always going to be fighting relegation.

Despite all that though, the lack of goals is unforgivable and Villa really do need to get rid.

"Parted company".

Why not just say he's been sacked?

About time. The prospect of almost certain relegation clearly kicked Lerner into action.

So the club has an owner who isn't interested and wants to sell, and now said disinterested owner needs to find a new manager (or get someone to do it on his behalf).

Can only work out well.

Feel for Lambert really.
