I think I speak for all of us raised in real football in saying that your "matchday experience" as you optimistically describe it, is something one samples once out of morbid curiosity and leaves feeling you have been held at arms length with rubber gloves while being "processed" in a money extraction facility, rather than provided with shared time among fellow football beings. I won't be going back.

As Luke alludes to - strange, strange season was 2010/11.

People were actually talking about an outside chance of a play-off push after we won five successive games in February (and looked quite good in doing so), that was soon tempered but we kept on picking up some impressive wins at a decent rate against the likes of Morecambe, Oxford, Southend etc, all top-half standard sides at the time.

Just cannot believe that ten game run, even to this day. To pick up 1 point from a final 30 is inexplicable from 11 points clear, even if we were relying on shite in the end.

And here we are, doomed to eternity in the Conference. I do miss League Two.

You both missed out the bit where Tilson got married and lost interest, spending most of the week darn sarf with new lady wife telling the players to do what they liked until his return on Thursday.
Our dopey chairman later admitted he should of sacked him 5/6 games before the end of the season, he finally relieved him of duties in the October after our relegation...
O the nice touch was after the draw at Crewe (our only point in the relegation run) the ref in that game gave them a penalty and denied us one said he got both decisions wrong giving us the extra two points that would kept us up! Could only happen to us!

it all started in 2001 for us when a dodgy chairman bought us and tried to evict us from our stadium

in 2004-05 season we were the first team to ever be deducted 10 points for going into administration resulting in us being relegated from L1. we never recovered financially and after sacking Denis Smith and replacing him with an inexperienced manager in Brian Carey we somehow managed to survive on the last day of the 06-07 season before we were ultimately relegated the following season under Brian Little
