should really have had a tooth out last week but I shat it & have put it off till I see my own dentist in a fortnight. I normally have no probs with the dentist.....I had root canal treatment a year ago and was neither up nor down, but for some reason the thought of an extraction puts the shits up me.

That's good to know mate because the dentist who looked at it told me that the tooth which is to come out HAS, at some time in the past, had root canal treatment (I've obviously forgotten about it). Don't feel so bad now......

Mine was a wisdom tooth that just broke one day. Root-canal filled it and the filling started to disintegrate a couple of years after. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it came out.

The extraction was cheaper than the root canal (£30 vs £100), though I guess you get it for free, being a pensioner?
