Ipswich are one of those clubs were there not gonna get promoted any time soon but will stay well clear of relegation, I thought Hurst would have held out for a more ambitious job tbh unless he just thinks it could be a stepping stone for a more attractive job in the future.

Poisened chalice of a job and he probably isn't ready to step up to that level. Struggled terribly with about 1000 or so Grimsby fans on his back and then rode the wildest crest of a honeymoon period for a over a year and a half at Shrewsbury. Will be intriguing to see if he can cope with pressure again and in increased fan volumes. If he was going to move then Barnsley was the ideal assignment for me. Hope Ipswich fans are looking forward to seeing Alex Rodman and Lennell John-Lewis in the Championship.
He's climbed the leagues rapidly and that is always a bit of a red flag for me, but I do like him so wish him all the best. I just wouldn't be betting my savings on him getting that close to taking them back up to the PL before he is given the boot.
Hope all you Championship lot got into your shelters befofe the SoCradamus truth bombs ripped through your division earlier today.

Damn he was doing such a great job for Ipswich. Hope they still get relegated and continued bad karma to their sleaze ball Chairman Marcus Evans

I just hope someone’s told Chris Doig, he’ll still be looking round for Hurst wondering why he hasn’t turned up for training.

If Marcus Evans had held off with his under the table enquiries via Hurst's agent until after the Play Off final, and irrespective of the result, we would have allowed ITFC to speak to Hurst. STFC have never stood in a managers way if another club has made an approach for them.

Could have all been handled better by Evans and it's now cost him a kings ransom to pay us off for Hurst and Co, bring in some "League 1 ready players" in preparation for next season and pay off Hurst & Co to clear the decks for the Norwich reject Lambert.

let's not forget the majority of Ipswich fans were sure and very happy Hurst was on his way several weeks before the Play Offs, "it would be a new dawn for ITFC" was often quoted and there can be no doubt it impacted Shrewsbury's promotion bid.

Well Ipswich and Marcus Evans have got what they deserve, and long may bad Karma hang over Ipswich and their impending relegation down the league.

Hursts approach and man management simply didnt work, and I'm pleased Marcus has asked more swiftly here than with past managers.

I'll remove all paid advertising on site in the close season if we go down under Lambert. Obviously not a huge fan of him for his connections but we have no leg to stand on in terms of kicking up a fuss given the situation.

We will limp to Christmas on life support, bring in a couple of experienced players and continue to battle at the wrong end, ultimately finishing not quite comfortably clear.

Bait all you like, it's not gunna happen. That doesn't mean we may have a run quite a close race, though. I don't really visit the Championship section atm because our most worrying issue is our lack of goals; the nonsense from the usual special needs fellas, suggesting the entire team has failed to play well in fits and spurts (or at all) , just don't tally with how well/bady we've coped with previous opposition.

Leeds & M'boro aside nobody else in the league has dominated us,. We just cant't score.

I expect us to remain bottom until January, at which point I'll drop back into this thread and see how the happy bus are getting on. Until then, all I can say is roll on January and hope the other 5 or 6 teams down the bottom continue to lose week in week out pretty much, too.
