Yes because no other club has injuries.
Presumably he is paid very well so they can't afford to sack him

Aye, we have had a bit of a nightmare with injuries though I know that doesn't make us unique.

Feels more like the people Monk has built around (Gardner, Watts, Jobe, Stokes, Lavery) have all got injured straight away, which is the mitigation.

Presumably he'll hit some performances clause soon that he hasn't yet, but with the scum only a match or two away, I'm not too excited to find out!

I feel a bit sorry for our manager...and the previous one . Lindsey obviously looked at us and said 'no chance' of beating the drop. Now Elliot is left to pick up the pieces. Need to be a cross between Pep and Klopp to keep us up.

Just too many changes from last season. Our game at Wycombe we had two players left from Wembley and one staff member. How to chuck away a good season.

Not a managerial change, but Paul Tisdale has gotten himself a role as a Lead Data Analyst at Celtic!
and he will be the finest dressed lead data analyst there ever was, and will be. Useless manager though, for us at least.

I remember we desperately needed a striker in the January window and he had a hard-on for Jayden Stockley who eventually ended up going to Charlton. We did sign a GK and RB...no striker..... and promptly went down. Well done Tis you flat cap wearing twonk

And he now describes himself as a “football doctor” :fl:

The bloke is arrogant beyond belief and I don’t miss him managing us at all, despite the good times in his first 5 years or so.

I feel your pain with his poor recruitment. He always loved Stockley but he often left us frustrated in the transfer market.

Yeah he put all his eggs in one basket with Stockley and then we were left with nothing.

Having a look around managers/coaches that are currently out of work, there aren't many that jump out at you that would be prepared to drop or manage at the bottom of League One right now.

Gareth Ainsowrth, Mick Beale, Neil Critchley, Pete Wild, Leam Richardson

Those are probably the better coaches about right now out of work for one reason or another (I am aware they would all come with negatives as well, but thats the way it goes at this level), but lets be honest are any of them really going to want a job at any of the bottom six in this league right now with the budgets we have? Unlikely.

Then you have the types that no one really wants due to poor last jobs, but might have to accept if you really want a change:

Paul Ince, Dino Maamria, Andy Crosby, Joe Edwards, Ian Foster, Joey Barton - Although his record is acceptable, I wouldn't want someone with his personality and the way he's recently conducted himself in the public eye managing my football club and being the clubs voice which is why I stuck him in this list.

In conclusion, no manager is immune from the sack, if you lose ten in a row say, then yeah a change is likely.

But with money seemingly tight this year and a lack of options about unless you're prepared to appoint a young first time coach and give them time to implement their ideas which will likely mean more short term pain, then I can't see many managerial changes at this level.

I can see ourselves, Shrewsbury & Northampton for example sticking with who we have even if we was to go down, because lets be honest, we won't be getting anybody better any time soon.

Pete Wild would jump through fire to get a bottom 6 League One Job.
