If you go down with a whimper and finish bottom then you'll risk going even further down the following season into the non-league.

Finishing 24th in L1 can have dire consequences even if you have a decent budget.
We deserved to go down last season. I mean, you did the double over us with ease.
But yes, if we go down we are playing national league football the season after.

apparently the favourite is mark Kennedy. Couldn’t make this shit up.
If that happens, we are down by Easter.
Although that might happen anyway.

We got rid. Either we didn’t coach him correctly or he was shit. I think it’s the former.
He always looked dangerous against us for Exeter. I know his final ball was often missing but if players consistently had that they probably wouldnt be in L1

Hurst has gotta be close at Shrewsbury now few whispers they'd want Matt Sadler if they sacked Hurst.

Can't imagine we'll be paying compensation in the event of us sacking Hurst. Thought Sadler was under pressure last year?

Ainsworth 16/1
Favourite is rowett at 5/1
Probably end up with neither and go down the excel spreadsheet optic route that we seem to use for our players.

I think Ainsworth would do well for you.

I thought he had a restriction of only being interested in Southern clubs at one point as he had a young family settled in the area, but if he wants to get back in the game then I don’t think he should spend too much longer out of it, and being too choosy about location is not a luxury that managers can afford.

For a long time he was managing us on a shoestring, before our previous sugar daddy came along, so he definitely can work on a limited budget and get teams to punch above their weight.

Anyway, we all know that just because someone’s on the bookies’ list doesn’t mean they’re an actual contender, so only time will tell.

Feel like Burton squad is all wrong for Ainsworth, they signed a ridiculous amount of players in the summer and seem to have a bit of money now, not shoestring anyway.

Based on what I saw on Saturday, Burton are not a team I would think Ainsworth would like to work with. Can't see that one happening personally.

We already have "fans" calling for Rob Elliot to be sacked at Crawley. Got feel sorry for him. The squad he has been served up just does not have the wherewithal to compete.

For instance, two of the three defenders had one season in the pro game and the other had 4 games. The two pivots we played in front of them, one has one season and it's the others first season.

Don't get me wrong. They're not awful players but we could really do with some experienced pros to give some guidance.

Do any of these folks have a replacement suggestion?

Do you think defensively you lot can be saved from good coaching or are the players simply out their depth?
Bit of both in honesty. Mostly not good enough which you saw at your place this season. You could have had five in the first half.
Going forward we are decent but that is not going to save us.

Only ones that are pie in the sky.

It's always easy to overspend other people's money. Ask them to pay extra to watch a game Ans see how quick they scream about that.

I thought Hurst was the best manager in league one? In fairness to him though, they must have the smallest budget in league one...they looked awful last season and looked nailed on for relegation this season when looking at their squad. I'm not sure who is going to do any better.
