You are every season. But always end up fine.

The Sunderland of the Championship (because I know how you'll love that title).

I'm less optimistic. Although we're always bottom half material I think this is the first time we've been in the relegation zone deep-ish into a season.

I fear we'll regret not hiring Wagner in the summer, and instead gave Powell a totally pointless and predictable start to the season. The fitness our style of play now requires is a big ask, and as much as pressing excites the crowd it pulls players all over the place at times.

Our next 4 home games are Bristol City, Rotherham, Preston, and Charlton. Big big games already.

Didn't you survive on the final day against Barnsley in your first season up here?

We'll go down unless we start finding that second goal, lost once in our last eight games yet we're still only 3pts above the drop zone.

To be fair if we didn't get that undeserved last minute goal against you, then you would be 5 points clear and above us too. Think there are certainly 3 worse teams in the league than Preston.

Hopefully.

Hoping Beckford can hit the ground running when he's eventually back (looking like it will be well after Christmas though) he's integral to the way we play and Eion Doyle hasn't cut the mustard in filling in for him.

We could possibly go down if we don't start improving agaisnt the teams we should beat soon, worries me that we play well against the real big teams and then fuck up badly against the smaller ones. Still I have faith in Cotts.

Fix that please by being shit against us and then awesome against everyone else.

No chance.

Eddie Davies, their major creditor, wouldn't put them in administration!

November wages haven't been paid. It would seem extreme for Davies after so long and so much money, even to the point of canceling the debt to whomever takes over, to just draw a line in the sand and say no more funds. It doesn't make much sense. But that appears to be what he's done if he's not paying wages. That situation can only go on for so long until either a takeover is agreed, Davies steps back in and pays wages, or administration is called.

Probably a bit of brinkmanship going on, it'll get to the 11th hour before Administration is forced, and a deal done?

They've apparently had meetings with potential new owners but no-one so far meets the criteria to but the club.

Read an article, can't remember where, saying they could go into voluntary admin on Friday.

After an epic first win under Wagner's popular new style of play things are suddenly looking up, but our next 2 games will tell us a lot. Bristol City and Rotherham, both at home within 3 days of eachother, huge.

Beat us and you'll end Cotterill's stint here I reckon - and I currently can't see anything other than a routine home win. We'll see.

Not sure about this, from my point of view I think it's time he needs to go, as there are currently some better managers in the market (not Steve Clarke btw) , but I reckon the board won't sack him because of what he did last season.

Just out of interest what better managers would you go for Josh?

That assistant manager at Palace has proven he can coach, maybe worth a go at this level. Or Derek McInnes up at Aberdeen, he's doing a pretty decent job. If we're willing to take a gamble from the non-league, a possible contender could be Gary Johnson at Cheltenham? He's steadied the boat there and is doing a great job on a fairly small budget.

What's Steve Coppell up to these days?
