By that reckoning, you should be 7/8 points clear at the top then? :fish:

Yes our position is realistic because we've got the most points so far

You will be up there after 46 games of that id be willing to bet big on it. I said on day one you were quality and youve backed that performance up since then too. I expect wigan, us, millwall, bradford and bury to be the other 5 who finish in the top 6, however very early days still.

We won't finish in the top 6 unless we get some defensive/midfield cover while we have our injuries.

Looks like we need a keeper as well now, again.
Hope off to Cumbria should free some space for a new loan.

Conceded a fluke last 5 min goal against Gillingham to draw 1-1 and last 2 games have been up 2 up and have drawn 2-2. How we could be in such a better position right now.

We won't get top six unless we get a prolific striker. If we do I fancy us for automatic. Without him we will struggle and finish top ten. We just can't score goals. Joachim and Thiele are useless and we rely in beacon too much.

All teams have hard luck stories, 90th minute goals etc. You are where you are, i,d say we are bang on. Jekyll and Hide team ,one week brilliant next week utter dross. Of the teams i,ve seen Gills and Wigan were good, Burton will not finish top 6 based on what i saw and they still easily beat us 2-0. All ifs and buts we let in 94th min at Bradfud and missed 2 pennos v Posh but fluked a win on saturday at Barnsley. Mid table mediocrity is what we are so our placing is right.

It's not realistic to keep up with the entire season. Sheffield United have a seemingly endless budget, Bradford will do things in January, Millwall have a good looking squad, Coventry seem to be loaning quality midfielders every day of the week and Wigan could go out and spend a couple of million. If we keep going, I think it will be between Gillingham/Walsall/Burton to finish 5th and 6th IMO. Possibly just 6th.

I still think Wigan will win the league, and expect Millwall and Peterborough to have storming second halves of the season. Coventry have no excuses not to be in the play-offs, same with Sheffield United. I don't see Burton maintaining the push, and I've said since day one I expect us to finish about 8th, challenging for the last play off spot with Walsall and Bradford.

looking at games where I think we have dominated but lost or drew. I think we should be top.

Thrown about 10 pts away already.
A lot of teams would have the same argument but I've got us being definitely 6 points higher:

Oldham (H): Bottled a late equaliser. +2pts
Doncaster (H): - 2pts. We scammed them with 2 late bits of brilliance by Tom. Poor performance overall and as negative as they were Donny deserved a draw.
Peterborough (A): +2pts. Braindead late penalty to give away against 10 men to concede an equaliser.
Crewe (H): +2pts. Battered them for 90 minutes. No idea how we never won this one.
Wigan (A): +2pts A tougher argument but easily could have nicked this one.

Frustrating, but I've got no problem with our only 2 defeats (Bury and Chesterfield). Both of them did a classic away day 'job' on us.

Agree with as others have said. I think we'll be in with a shout of the bottom play off spot which would be a good achievement when considering our expectations before the season had started!!

Despite large budgets, I am not sure Sheff Utd or Bradford will be challenging the top two this season.
I do fully expect the top two to be from Coventry, Wigan, Peterborough or Millwall.
As in previous seasons there will then be half a dozen teams fighting for a couple of play off places.
I would hope that we would be one of those. A lot depends on January for us though. Not who we bring in but just making sure we keep Dack and Egan, as well as Edinburgh.

If you were given the option would you 'cash out' on your teams current position?

Or would you play on believing that you're going to finish higher?

I'd certainly 'cash out', as I still maintain we'll end up around 8th.

No chance i think you"ll make the top six pretty easily. Your home record will be way too good to not

We've played well once in about 2 months (Bury last week), just teams THINK we're good at home, so don't bother trying to attack us. Away we're very average really.

You were very good against us and your record proves you are against most

Probably not.

Although Dale are one of the smallest clubs in this division, and survival could be regarded as success, we have never finished in the bottom half of the table under Keith Hill.

I'd cash out anywhere from 8th upward, so it might be worth asking in a couple of weeks if we can put a bit of a run together... :)

We're in quite some form. Since our early season horror show, with four straight home defeats, we've only lost once (at in-form Peterborough) and have 24 points from our last 12 league games.
Big test for us over the next month, though, with Bury, Burton, Walsall, Gillingham and Southend coming up.

I'd happily cash out now with us in 12th, it's higher than we should be.

You'll beat us, that's for sure.

We surprised a few of the bigger sides at the start of the season, but the cracks are starting to show a little bit, which means we'll probably start slipping a little. Still, enjoying the start nonetheless!

I'd cash out now, as unless we can suddenly change our defence we are in serious trouble. We're certainly not going to be troubling the top six, so as long as we're above the bottom four then we can end the season any time.
