Pain in the arse the old forum going down when it did as there were some tasty games on Saturday. Stones ran out 2-0 winners over a decent Hornchurch side. They desperately need someone who can consistently find the back of the net as that was the only discernible difference on show at the Gallagher. Good crowd too. Three clear with two games in hand. Happy days!

Elsewhere there was a great result for Dulwich which leaves them firmly in the title mixer.

Could get a little lonely in this thread unless a few others find their way over...

Paranoid Pineapple/Partridge is here, so there's at least one other. I'm going to try and find the others who posted on the old forum this afternoon.

I still don't trust yourselves and Dulwich to self-destruct like last season.

I have found my way over, fear not!

I've not yet figured out if Dulwich winning at Margate is a good thing or not. I mean, if we win our two games in hand - why not, I guess.

Welcome back SS.

Top work PLL posting on the Urchins Fans Focus forum. Hopefully that will see a few Hornchurch and Margate supporters pop up on here in the next few days.

Despite having a reputation for physicality and route 1 we've always been able to play some neat passing football given a decent surface. No surprise that our RPL away form over the last few seasons is consistently better than our home form.

Enjoyed yesterday though, lots of positives for us. Good performance all round .. last season we'd probably have got something out of that game given the chances/possession we had .. Gogo and Purcell hitting the post; couple of great chances for Bishop that Mills did superbly well to block; plus Bishop's sitter he missed early second half. Stones had their chances too though with Mott pulling off a number of super saves especially the couple late on.

We've got another striker joining us imminently. He'll compete with Purcell / Bishop / Tuohy / Joseph / Smith and Marshall-Katung (if he's still there). Hope it's not too late before we unearth a goalscoring combination that works ! Defensively though we're ok so if we find the net once/twice a game we'll win more than we'll lose. Roll on Margate.

Isthmian Pot QF draw - Margate/Burgess Hill Town v K's.

Sort of want to win this now since we've got this far. A meaningless trophy is better then no trophy.

You will all be delighted to know I have successfully managed the migration...Thanks for the prompt on our forum Publeague.
I have nothing to say of interest (so what's new), but I shall post something pithy and incisive after the big Margate game on Saturday. Or not as the case may be.
Good to see there looks like a few are making it over.

Ahoy there.

Double over Margate... nice... the home win in the last minute earlier this season in "our Cup Final" was definitely the best moment I've seen so far as a newbie Dulwich fan. Allows us to keep tabs with Margate and Maidstone, but really that previous home loss vs Leiston could be costly.

We seem to be getting stronger through the season too, so hopefully not a repeat of last season's collapse. Dixon, Shaw, Abnett and Wanandio are all recent signings but all undisputed starters too.

We've just won a third league match on the trot (AMAZING SCENES), beating ETU away

Now six points off the play-offs, so Ks are obviously intent on giving us false hope before falling back into mid-table obscurity

With K's now not too far away from the playoffs, perhaps it's time for one of Paddy's patented multi-colour Isthmian tables?

Edit: Forgot to say that Joe Turner has gone on dual-registration to the Met Police. I thought he had something to contribute in the Conference South with us (and may very well still do so) but he should do well at Imber Court. He scored their first goal on Saturday and assisted the second.

Oh Aber, if it wasn't enough that you (and the rest of the losers in that league) were giving Boreham bloody Wood a leg up into the Conference, you're now aiding the Not Police in their quest for Connie S football? POOR, POOR FORM

What's happened to Margate people? Looking at their summer recruitment I thought they were nailed on to win the league this year. I stuck £50 on them and had a small cover bet on Maidstone (will return a couple of pound profit) - looking at the table (and going off their performances against us) I'll probably be collecting on Maidstone at the end of the season?

Nobody really knows. Of course rumours swirl about unrest in the camp, but nobody can confirm or deny that. I know the 'Gate fan from TFF said teams were adapting to their tactics. Injuries maybe. Perhaps a combination of these.

Are you suggesting I only do the league table on here when we are doing well?

You'd be right. I'll do it later when I get home... too fussy to do on the phone.

No problem. Know you Urchins were proud of being the best supported mob on this thread!

Surely you jest good sir. Opens new tab to check Connie South table...

Bwhahahahaha! Would Boreham Wood in the Prem be the most pointless club ever at that level?

Our fate has been decided as Margate defeated Burgess Hill Town in the League Cup & we will be facing the moneybags side in the QF.

Full QF draw:

Billericay Town/AFC Hornchurch v Whyteleafe

Hendon/Hampton & Richmond Borough v Maidstone United

Margate v Kingstonian

Witham Town/AFC Sudbury v Grays Athletic/Cheshunt

Seems most the other teams still have to play catch up!

I'm quite surprised about that... didn't think Burgess Hill Town were all that. Is it a money thing or have they just randomly become a killer Isthmian D1S side?

As promised earlier... proof that we are only 6 points off of the play offs:

1. Maidstone United - PLD: 27, PTS: 62
------------------------------------------------------
2. Margate - PLD: 29, PTS: 59
3. Dulwich Hamlet - PLD: 29, PTS: 58
4. Hendon - PLD: 27, PTS: 51
5. East Thurrock United - PLD: 30, PTS: 51
------------------------------------------------------
6. Metropolitan Police - PLD: 27, PTS: 50
7. Wingate & Finchley - PLD: 30, PTS: 47
8. Leiston - PLD: 28, PTS: 46
9. Kingstonian - PLD: 29, PTS: 45
10. Bognor Regis Town - PLD: 30, PTS: 44
------------------------------------------------------
22. AFC Hornchurch - PLD: 29, PTS: 25

I can only be arsed to do the top 10 plus Hornchurch. If you asked me what the league table was going to look like at the start of the season the top 3 would have been there but the rest of the table is seriously messed up... Plod fighting for the play offs, last year's play off runners up looking closer to the Isthmian Division One North then anything else and Peacehaven & Telscombe (who I completely forgot was in our league) are not getting completely battered. Unfortunately there are no such crazy things happening with us, having just gotten over a case of footballing man-flu & now desperately chasing the top 5.

I don't think we'll collapse like last year, seem a lot more robust defending once Abnett, Shaw and Dixon arrived. Plus, hopefully Wilson will stay fit and we won't have a 16 year old West Ham loanee in goal gifting points away.

Have caught Margate but Maidstone surely a step too far unless the cup games and fixture backlog proves to be an issue.

With the team and manager they have, Margate really should be running away with your league.

Good work Paddy - splendid idea to include us; an admirable compromise. We are not down yet and will have our own private duel (at least in the context of this board) with your nasty dotted line. Maybe we can encourage some Hampton or Lewes fans over - they used to post a bit on Conf South forum if I remember correctly. In fact I shall have a go with Lewes as I used to have a login.

Anyway, after Margate away on Saturday we have a pretty straightforward run of games (famous last words) - so if we are still below the line on 14 March (v Dulwich) I shall be most disappointed. (Cue terrible disappointment in March and dusting down of Ryman North travel guide).

Oh, and please bring Dowson back. I'm not bothered about the football management - I just love his incomprehensible post match interviews... the new guy is just dull.

He's at Hampton & Richmond Borough now... dunno if they do post match interviews though.
