Went to Dulwich v Billericay today. End to end stuff, entertaining game, decent ground and atmosphere (over 1500) and an all round friendly little club. Last minute winner for Dulwich too.

Bognor Regis Town v Enfield Town for me yesterday, doing a little work for Non League Live. Awful first half, about as inspiring as three day old blancmange, much better second half, but Enfield currently a shadow of last years team and look very short on confidence. A crowd of 444.

Only 3! you must be poor!.... was at Longmead on Monday when the Angels absolutely slaughtered VCD 7-0.... and it was one of those games when it could've easily been double figures if it wasn't for their 'keeper!

It's ok, we've got a chance to improve upon that haul tonight when, thanks to a fixture list seemingly cobbled together on the back of a fag packet, we face VCD again!

1-0 win at home to Leatherhead tonight. Murrell-Williamson with the lone goal winner for the second successive game, weaved his way around a few defenders before finishing great individual effort. Laboured it a bit, but Hamley were the better team and deserved winners. Leatherhead perhaps lucky to not have their captain sent off after picking up the refs dropped pen and throwing it at his head (and landed squarely on it) while the ref's back was turned. Just a yellow. Funny/daft in equal measure.

Report from t'North is that when we score, we score and score. And score again. If we could even out the goals a bit we'd be back up by now.

Purcell and Knight are now gelling and, (as hoped but not necessarily expected), looking way too good for some of the defences... BUT we are struggling to break down the better sides. Just need a little bit more creativity in midfield (don't we all!). Here's Purcell v Aveley pretending to be Gareth Bale (30+ secs in)... doesn't look like it on vid but keeper had no chance.

Anyway, there look to be about 7 or 8 decent sides who will slug it out for the play-offs (even Aveley were surprsingly good), but the winners will be one of Cray, Sudbury, Hornchurch, Harlow. You read it here first - but won't become a millionaire on the back of those tips as the bookies agree.

Saturday will be ineteresting as we play Cambridge City in the cup: a nice litmus test against Premier level opposition. And hopefully some resultant funding to pay for our front two!

We're taking on Farnborough in the FA Cup today but that doesn't really matter very much in the grand scheme of things as we may not have a football club for very much longer if this new statement from the board is anything to go by http://www.kingstonian.com/news/message-from-the-chairmen-1490455.html

The following passages are particularly alarming:

Naturally the most important task is to try and find a site within the Royal Borough of Kingston.

However it is not rocket science for any borough resident to understand that finding a site large enough to build a football ground here is massively difficult. So far, we have not found anywhere that is not green belt, metropolitan open land or owned with massive price tags and with little or no chance of a stadium with floodlight development.

Well quite! This is why many Ks fans are inclined to question the board's judgement, not least the assertion that it's not in Ks "long-term interests" to remain at Kingsmeadow. It's only an understandable stance if there are viable alternatives and there don't appear to be any.

Therefore in spite of the extremely generous donation being discussed with AFC Wimbledon, we just do not currently have sufficient money to buy a piece of land and then build, unless like all other clubs the project includes some other development.

So they're looking for the club to move out in less than two years but we don't have a site or sufficient financial backing at the moment? Superb. AFC Wimbledon might as well dispense with their PR department because these guys appear intent on doing the job for free. An "extremely generous donation"!!! I nearly spat my tea out. This is not an act of altruism - we have a contract with 18 years remaining on it. The very least that AFC Wimbledon should be doing is paying us enough money to ensure we can relocate. Why are we insisting on moving if this is not the case? I was deeply concerned in January but I'm even more worried now. The only thing I am confident of is that I no longer have faith in the current owners to act in the best interests of Kingstonian Football Club.

Yes, that unnerved me as well. They're going to "try to find a site within the Royal Borough of Kingston". Well that inspires confidence! Have they even attempted to engage with the supporters on this matter (silly question really) to establish what the consensus is? I personally do not want a football club in Tolworth or Chessington, I want one in Kingston, and I imagine a lot of people feel similarly.

This seems quite alarming too:

For some time, we have debated the forming of a Community owned football club. We have concluded that at this significant time there is a golden opportunity to commence this process and we would therefore encourage everyone to come together as owners of their football club.

We have already had a number of meetings with Supporters Direct. More are planned once when we have more clarity with the AFC position. The next meetings will involve the Supporters Club Executive Committee, with the aim of developing a plan incorporating the timing of moving the ownership of Kingstonian FC Ltd to a new community owned Football Club.

At the time of writing we believe we might achieve formation before the end of this season.

Again, has there been much in the way of consultation with supporters? Has the supporters' club so much as intimated they would be in a position to assume control of the club? It's a load of bollocks. If they want out I don't think they're well placed to be making an irreversible decision on the club's future, especially if it's one that could very well result in Ks demise. Much as with their initial statement in January, I find the more I dwell on this the angrier I become.

Oh, and let's not overlook Wimbledon's part in this. How bitterly ironic if they consign us to the dustbin of history...

Ok, so it now looks even worse than first thought. There appears to be a one year break clause in the lease. That would explain why the board aren't using any leverage - because, quite simply, they don't have any. Better to take the extra compo being offered now is presumably the thinking. That of course doesn't adequately explain why that clause exists in the first place, why everyone else was seemingly unaware of its existence and why there doesn't appear to have been any planning for precisely this eventuality. Essentially, if Wimbledon want to flog the ground to Chelsea and they don't want us there then it looks as though our options are pretty limited. In short we're fucked.

One team, formed with the good intentions to actually have a football club due to your original one being moved away has just caused another team to lose their home & any chance of playing in their home town in their fuck everyone else attempt to return home. Sums up that their values & beliefs have always just PR.

Tbh I feel slightly reassured having seen the Mark Anderson interview that's been posted on the forum. I can sort of see why they view it as an opportunity and can see that it could potentially be good for the long term health of the club but it's still all too up in the air for me to feel at all confident about our future. The fans are being asked to place a lot of faith in the board to get this right.

However it's spun it all boils down to one thing... The fans preferable option (& only option really) is to stay in the town of Kingston, which currently means staying at Kingsmeadow due to no other alternative.

People are talking about moving in to the athletics pitch next door & revamping the facilities for football... This could prove to be the only satisfactory alternative but to what level can you develop back there? Being very generous (with no education in building on things) I'd suggest a maximum of Conference South, which would suit us short to medium term.

If money can be secured most sites can get up to the level Histon got their ground, which allows a conference national entry, and apparently suited minimum entry requirements for the Football League. A goal late on in the second half gives us another invaluable 3 points on the board & lifts us up to the unfathomable position of 7th place, on goal difference with 5th (& 6th) although we've played twice more then those directly above us.

Sounds as though we were pretty fortunate but we're also somewhat injury ravaged at the moment so three points on the board is pleasing - we're on a good little league run at the moment despite the disappointing FA Cup exit. After last night's results the table looks absurdly close - 1 point separating 3rd down to 11th! And as if to demonstrate that anybody can beat anybody on any given day, leaders Leiston lost 4-0 at ETU (previously occupying 20th position).

So, our (not including the FA Cup) win streak lives on with a penalty shoot out victory over Hendon in the Alan Turvey Appreciation Pot second round. Obviously being a budget competition that no one gives a shit about (even less now it's named after the ever-popular former league chairman) it was 90 minutes then straight to penalties.

We play the winner of Fuckedborough & Three Bridges at home* in the third round.
