They've been knocking on the door for a few years now so this has been coming. Can they afford to go up though?

Will they be a sutton?

can’t say i’d be looking forward to play either.

They could stay up for a few years based on shithousery alone, until the rest of the league catches on. That pitch is a massive part of their game though so they could struggle.

I give them 3 years and they're back in the non league abyss from whence they came.

They'll be absolutely fine next season though because there are some basket case candidates for relegation next season.

Gonna be interesting for sure. Their entire MO for years has been 'keep it tight away and win the home games on the placcy pitch'. They're a sound enough defensive structure and I do rate Woodman and their set up. Really glad they've got to dig that minging Subbuteo shite up though

Fuck sake, so not only do they sit 10 behind the ball and play like thugs. They also have a brexit Steve Evans and a bunch of 15 year old scruffy chavs supporting them. Can’t wait.

Yep that about sums them up. It was bad enough going there with Wimbledon in our non league days . I won't be going there next season.

They won’t be, they just scream Graham Westley era Stevenage. Even if they finish bottom two at some point someone will do a Macc and save them. They’re here to stay.

Do Bromley count as a London away day? We're in dire need of one that we don't get overly policed so if so, from an away day perspective it seems slightly better as an option.

Still sounds shit though.

They’ve been throwing money at it for years so clearly someone has cash to piss away.

thing is though there isn’t any stand out side which strikes me that will be shit at the bottom of league 2 for once, there isn’t a standout crazy club etc.

You’d imagine the likes of colchester will have better seasons, maybe grimsby too…

Adam Summerton needs to relax.

Always chuckle when he says something like "no one can do it like he can" after someone like Cheek scores a simple header, as if there aren't four leagues-worth of better strikers in England alone.

A lot of bitterness here. Bromley are a team of steady progress and have had a great season and have well earnt their place in the football league. Not the best game quality wise but playoff finals always tend to be cagey affairs.

23k attendance, not bad considering the size of the clubs. Going to be a challenge but think Bromley will have enough about them to stay up next year

Not the best away day but 15 mins on the train from Victoria, and walkable from the station. Plenty of pubs nearby the station

Few of the teams that come up to straight back down but Bromley are going to have to change a lot of personnel in the summer. Quite an old squad, losing the plastic pitch and Michael Cheek being 33 next season and not being a team happy on the ball doesn't look like ingredients to comfortably adjust to L2.
Woodman does have them organised though, very good at soaking up pressure but I'd be very surprised if they're higher than bottom third by the end of next season.

Don’t forget there was no Wembley novelty factor for us either as it was our 3rd time there, so when you factor that in with no trains & extortionate coach prices, it’s going to put the day trippers off isn’t it.

20k of us there for our first visit there in the 2012 JPT final vs Swindon

We had big Wembley fatigue in the early '90s. Took 20,000 or so to Wembley for the Trophy final against Stoke, lost. Then just a week later we played Peterborough in the playoff final, and lost. A year later, lost to Vale in another Trophy final.

So the year after that, our fourth visit in two years, we only took 8,000 to see County lose to David Elleray+Burnley. To make it seem worse, it was their first visit to Wembley since the industrial revolution or something, so Burnley had 40,000 there for a massive family reunion.

We won 4-0 at Bromley in the FA Cup a number of years ago, but I think there were three divisions between us at that point. I don't remember reading about them having any notable money or anything (?), so just sounds like a journey of steady progress to me. Fair play to them.

Just looking too and I see they've had an average attendance of 3,500 this season too which seems reasonable enough - especially if it is then now likely to maybe push 4,000 with some bigger away followings etc. No reason why they can't be here to stay like Accrington and Crawley etc.

Well done to Byron Webster for putting the winning penalty away comfortably and captaining Bromley to promotion.

He isn't remembered too fondly for his time up here after how diabolical he was as our centre back a few seasons ago, but has obviously performed strongly since leaving.

He had an EFL Captain's armband on I noticed and his penalty matched that confidence

Yeah It's an interesting league I fancy the Cowleys to do well , some think they are a busted flush - we will find out .

I'm going in with minimal expectation for us, and hope to be pleasantly suprised .

It could be an even more inconsistent league I think , where anyone can beat anyone really - I think that's why I like it more than the higher league's because there are shock results all over the place .

Ah, fair enough. Appears to have been 2,600 for the regular season - reckon that will be circa 3,000 next year though with a few extra locals and away fans so no worse than Accrington, Harrogate and Salford. 2,600 is no worse than Aldershot or Rochdale who would be considered league clubs.

To be fair It usually is an interesting league and it doesn't deserve to get looked down on as much.

Sure the quality is not as good as the league above but at least it's not so boringly predictable as to who will finish in the top 6/7 like it is in L1 now where there is a significant gap from top to bottom.

Have a feeling Morecambe will be that club with all their off-field turmoil...
