5 months ban, 3 months of it suspended, 2 months already served, so he's clear to play the first game of the season.

Lucky guy IMO.

Hilarious when the same FA banned Rio for 8 months for just missing a drugs test.

Yet Jose Baxter's clearly been on the gear and gets a 5 month ban of which almost half is suspended and the rest has happened during preseason.

Logic.

Missing a drugs test - 8 month ban and a 50k fine.

Failing a drugs test - 5 month ban.

Moaning about the outcome of a case you know nothing about and then comparing it to another case you know nothing about...

Logic.

This has worked against us before tbf, Paddy Kenny got a 10month ban for failing a drugs test. For a drug that was performance enhancing, but only for out-field players and a drug he got from taking cough medicine which the pannel even agreed was an innocent mistake.

He must have had some evidence to support his drink spiked story. That's the only thing I can think of that would make it so lenient.

It's very easily explained. If you don't give someone who skips test a high sentence, then it means if you take drugs you should just skip the test rather than taking it because you'd get a lesser sentence. Ferdinand's sentence was exactly correct and sent out a strong message, baffled by people who don't understand it.

I understand it fine but how does failing a test yield a lesser punishment. Keeping the punishment harsh for missing a test like in Ferdinand's case and the punishment for failing one more severe is surely the obvious way to go.

Because he's taken the test, he's been proven to have taken drugs. By denying justice to take it's course you should be hit with the ban you'd get anyway plus more, it's too discourage people from doing it. Otherwise it means nobody would take the test if they were guilty as it would make no differences. Much like admitting your guilt rather than making a victim go through a trial, only in this instance there's no possibility of you being wrongly convicted.

I'd still have him at North End, quality player on his day.

I'd have Pete Doherty up front if he could bag.

So Jose has been suspended, again. Yet to be confirmed as to why, but I think we can take a wild swing at it and be right.

And so our season takes another turn for the farcical. There is part of me that that feels for Baxter, he clearly has issues in his life and it is stopping him from pursuing a successful football career. He is talented, but unless he addresses these problems you fear for his future. Should this be confirmed however, I have no doubt that he'll be dismissed as well as be banned from football for a year or so. Shame.

How the fuck is this guy only 24

Honestly feels like he has been around forever. If put on the spot I would have said he's 30 for sure.

Sheff Utd seem like a club which could do with pressing delete and starting again from scratch, much like Leeds United.

What a pleb.

He needs making an example of, wasting his talent, money and the opportunity to be a professional footballer.

The FA should ban him for 3+ years. Make him learn.

To be fair to him he clearly has bigger issues outside of football if he's battling a drug addiction. Hope he gets himself sorted out as much as it's another thing to go wrong for us atm.
