Going to be honest I like that Colchester shirt. Only so much you can do with stripes so decent effort to add that twist to it.

The colchester home kit is probably the worst kit released so far. Looks like the same sorta design as a generic Tesco brand washing-up liquid bottle.

Given that I assume it's primarily referencing the kit as opposed to the player, then we did have the yellow and blue away kit the season we won promotion to the Championship for the only time - so it seems appropriate.

That said, Jamie Cureton is also the only player to ever win a Championship golden boot whilst playing for Colchester United, scoring over 20 league goals in the best team that we've ever had so I think there are many less-justified uses of the legend label in football.

You're mistaken, the home shirt is a dark blue, the third shirt is black iris (dark blue).

No reason why our away kit can’t contain our traditional colours though. Up until last season all our away kits have been black and white in some form.

We released our away shirt on Wednesday. Quite like it, different from our usual ones. Better than last seasons 2 tone blue in my opinion. Shame the pattern on the front doesn't extend around the back.
