Wow, who would have pegged these 2 to make the last 16? And who would have predicted they meet?

This will be historic no matter what the outcome. Wales have only ever qualified for 1 major tournament and in that one, they went out in their only ever knockout game. Northern Ireland have made 3 tournaments, but they've never won a major tournament single game knockout fixture before.

So one of these teams will be creating history. One of the players will be creating history. Is this the biggest game in these 2 countries football history, or is that too much? Either way, this looks to be a fascinating tie with so much excitement and intrigue.

You would have to say Wales would win this one, but I wouldn't rule out Northern Ireland. Predicitions?

There it is Wales through to the quarter finals in Lille, pretty poor game of football and again a bit of quality from Bale wins them the game. Wales were poor and Michael O'Neill got his tactics spot on really nulifying them, the difference was the difference in the two sides attacking quality. Wales are nothing special though and definitely being overhyped, if it's Belgium in the quarters I think that'll be the end of the journey.

Not sure I can endure another Bale and Williams love in. It's like the commentators are shocked when Bale makes a half decent pass. Apparently his cross was better than clean water.

Well that was awful. Wales through, but only just. You could tell they struggled with being the favourites and being expected to dominate possession. Be interesting to see who they face in the Quarters.
