I'd take Barrow at !2's and given that both Miller and Harrison are likely to be elsewhere come January it might be worth a punt on Cook at those prices!

Barrow looks pretty good at 12/1, given they've got a manager who has actually won this league.

Are we not included in the relegation odds? :woo:

Put a tenner on Cook a few weeks back on the basis I think Miller will be off.

I don't think Harrison will leave mid-season - he's been sensational, but he's nearly 30, and never really done a lot in L2. He's got a good deal here, and it would take a lot of money - more than anyone will be willing to pay for someone of his age.
I can see him scoring a lot more this season as he's our penalty taker too.
Cook always has a poor spell without goals, usually around January or February! With us he was the main man, so would be picked until he got his form back - I don't think he'd get the same treatment at Tranmere, with some good options waiting on the bench.

For some reason, I thought he was a lad of 22/23!

you can get 8/1 on Byron Harrison with Bet365 - given that Miller might move on and Harrison is unlikely to that looks huge.

Barrow are the best side I've seen so far this season.

I've only seen Tranmere beat us, and that was a terrible game where neither team impressed, so on that basis and having seen us stuff a few sides, I'd have to agree. We'll see what more of the top sides are like in the second half of the season when they all come to Barrow.
Contrary to popular belief, we've played some very good football at times, but a lot of the time we simply overpower the opposition - exactly what Mansfield used to do to us! It's also helped that every signing Cox has made and put in the team has been excellent and there are three or four waiting in the wings who have barely had a kick yet - I can't see us winning it, but neither can I see us dropping out of the play-off places.

For some reason, I thought he was a lad of 22/23!

I think he's gone under the radar for a lot of people because he seems to have spent his career in the southern leagues and then as a bit-part player in League 2. He's easily the best all-round striker we've had in the past 10 years, probably since Grant Holt and Glenn Murray had spells here as youngsters, though I can't recall exactly how good they were.

If it were available on Betfair I'd lump a lay on Miller. No way will he score enough to win the golden boot by January.

Barrow look decent price for the title.

Just as a matter of interest what are the odds on a Gloucestershire double:
FGR to be promoted and Cheltenham Town to be relegated?

I think Tranmere would be my pick at this stage, with Lincoln 2nd and FGR 3rd.
I think Barrow will finish in the play offs, but I would be very surprised if they won the league - their fixtures between now and the end of February are very difficult.

difficult?? we have already played all the top 6 away from home - they all have to come to Barrow....
There isn't a team in the league we fear at home - and the only 2 to beat us away are Tranmere and Dover - and we've already beaten Mellon's Tranmere at home in the FA Cup

Barrow must be good if Ross Hannah never gets a game.

I thought FGR would piss the league and accepting they have had some real tough fixtures this month, I think it will be between Tranmere, galvanised since the new manager, or the team of Giants at Barrow.
If we could get 4 points from the next two, of all the current top sides I think we would only have Barrow, Tranmere and Lincoln (all away) to play and surely a play off position for us will become a very realistic possibility

On top goalscorer, didn't have a abet on Miller at start of the season as he was only 12/1 (Tubbs was 5/1 favourite!) but when CK decided to drop him for four games, he went out to 25/1 but still only two goals behind Rhead and Norwood I think it was, so I lumped on.
Question is, especially with him likely to leave, is how does a cash out bet work, if he 4/11 now what sort of payout could I expect if I cashed out?
Anyone any ideas?

You've not told us how much you put on, but places vary. Do you not know the cash-out value at the minute?

The cash-out will be based on the odds you bet on, not the odds now.

If the bookie offers cash out you should be able to cash it out for a profit. If that's the case there'll be a cash out offer on the bet.

Very rough estimate, no idea how they calculate such things but I'd take a guess that you'd be paid about 10/1 for cashing out?

If they don't then you're stuck with it.

Title...
Forest Green 2/1
Lincoln 2/1
Tranmere 9/4
Barrow 10/1
Dover 16/1
Dagenham 22/1

Barrow are decent value on that for me at 10/1. Game in hand and can rise to second if they win it.

To finish top 5...
Forest Green 1/12
Lincoln 1/12
Tranmere 1/10
Barrow 1/2
Dover 5/6
Dagenham 4/5
Eastleigh 11/4
Macclesfield 5/1
Gateshead 5/1
Chester 12/1

Not worth a bet for me it's only looking like 5 go into 6 at the top and none are value.

Relegation...
North Ferriby 1/33
Guiseley 2/5
York 8/11
Southport 10/11
Braintree 7/4
Maidstone 11/4
Solihull 11/4
Torquay 3/1
Woking 11/4

Braintree at 7/4 for me. Worst home record in the league with only one win.

Do Braintree still have 13 matches called off at home each season as it's rained for half an hour in Sweden?
