Dreading facing Lincoln after reading this.

Matt Rhead still up top for them?
Both sides will feel that they just can't risk having the ball in that game.

Would love to get to the Championship and be bogged down.

We haven't been there since the 80s.

There doesn’t seem to be much correlation between league position and many of those stats which makes me think they’re not good indicators of success?
Pretty clear trend towards sides near the top having more greens, and sides toward the bottom having more reds.

Obviously a couple of outliers, Reading, Rotherham; feels harsh to say 'false positions' but you can see the point

It’s hard to imagine it ever happening when things are going so well isn’t it, especially with a large dose of naivety mixed in.

I’m not necessarily saying it will end it tears, but it’s only gunna get harder and more expensive, tenfold at a minimum.

Which is exactly why we've got ourselves some billionaires investing. There's no reason why we can't establish ourselves in the Championship or higher if the likes of Swansea and Brentford can do it.

Then what once you have reached the promised land will it be enough for egotistic owners. Or will they want to compete with the elite of Europe
Getting these investors onboard will be good for Wrexham and Birmingham because the burden when/if you climb will be massive.
Wrexham/Birmingham will always be a cash cow
Brentfords Moneyball system is the only one proven to work.
For every Brentford you have a Bolton, Derby, Wigan, Reading........With the same amount very close to needing a bail out in the next year or so

I’m not saying you cannot do it, I’m just saying it’s more likely you struggle to compete and throw loads of money away doing it, can you not see that scenario? The Championship is mental.

It's going to end at some point but it doesn't look like it's any time soon.

For me I just think back at where we were- treading water in the national league, and shrinking as a club every year with regional football staring us in the face. No ground, no training ground, no academy, no women's team....

I can't see them bankrupting the club- we aren't just doing the usual bankrolled club thing of stacking debt up against the club for starters, so even if there is an eventual fall from grace after this is all over we should be in a much healthier state as a club than where we were. And as a bottom line that'll do for me.

I think that’s a healthy outlook from yourself, I do think a lot of your fellow fans are a bit delusional about what’s to come and the chances of it working.

Even Birmingham, it’s going to be so difficult for them after this season and they’ve thrown tens of millions at it.

Anyway, you could easily find yourself down at this level for a while yet!

Anyway around 4 years ago we appointed “cloughie” (that seems to somehow annoy people) but it came up from a screenshot of 4 years ago to the day that at the time the bookies had it between him and Paul Hurst.

It’s fair to say i’m rather happy we went for Clough  we went and won the first game of the season away ar Sunderland in the FA cup (yeah, it was November and we hadn’t won a game, of any kind!)

Funny game, football.

we have spent a lot this recent summer window so we dont have to spend a lot when we are back in the championship re ffp.

we go up, bring in 1 or 2 just to tinker, that is the plan, championship ready now. I dont forsee any strife coming our way sanction wise.

Yeah, the current Birmingham side would have a decent chance of avoiding relegation if you went up.

i think we would do better than that, defo pushing the top 10 id reckon, we are different now, the way we play etc probably be more suited to playing against better opposition.

I do, we've thrown plenty of money at it just to get out of non league.

I just don't see it as an issue for us.

Birmingham are a country mile ahead of Wrexham in both infrastructure and playing squad
Hot take that seeing as we were in the Vauxhall Conference 18 months ago. Our rise is astronomical but that's what the owners wanted and Parky has delivered it. I'm sure they hinted they wanted Championship within 5 years.

I dread us getting promoted this season tbh, we would be eaten alive in the Championship most weeks without a huge squad overhaul. The quality jump between these 2 leagues is massive so a season or 2 more here will do us well.

I think a play-off push this season followed by a serious promotion push next time would be a huge success. The owners will want to make history though and be the first club in the English professional pyramid to win back to back to back promotions.

I think Bolton will take the 1 available promotion spot and we'll settle between 6th and 8th.

It’s not a issue yet, my point is the amount of funds in the championship just to compete could create a issue quite easily; you won’t have that problem at this level.

Interestingly Matt Rhead now plays for Kidsgrove and has been joined up front by Tom Pope! Even in non league circles thats one physical old fashioned pairing

Huge if true.
of course it is true.....Wrexham ground even for league one is at best average and yes i know of your plans in the near future.
I doubt you are strong enough to gain promotion this time round....Yes you are doing better than i expected but some teams will grow into the season
You may get into the lottery of a play-off place and anything can happen......Promotion this season may knock you back

Stockport County.
Wrexham have spent the second most in the division. There is no reason they can't push for that second automatic spot. It looks wide open to me. I don't think they are the 2nd best team at this moment (table says Wycombe are but I'd be more minded to go with Bolton or Huddersfield).

But promotion will be the aim of the owners otherwise they wouldn't have spent so much this summer.

Wrong, we've been outspent by Posh and Burton (along with Brum), but we have spent well over the past couple of years to get us to where we are now.

Vauxhall conference! love it.

It was the blue circle cement league when we won it (blue square bet or whatever) now sponsored by bananarama.
