He was at Bradford but then his loan got cut short as he got done for hare-coursing. He played as a sub for Huddersfield in an FA cup tie so think that would have rendered him ineligible.
Is this the guy who signed for Bradford on loan then kissed their badge on their announcement video?
Probably best avoided when you consider the hare-coursing. Sounds like a right div

Yep same one. Think his dad didn’t help matters as he’d posted in a Vale Facebook group that he actually wanted to come to us rather than them or words to that effect and also some thinly veiled stuff about him not getting in their team.

Depends if he has learnt his lesson, he was an odd one when we had him as he scored against Brentford about 5 minutes into his debut, then scored a superb goal in his first league game but then largely drifted out the squad, scored 2 as a sub against Mansfield when they were flying to kick start our great run towards the latter part of the season then disappeared until the Play Off second leg, caused them loads of problems in that and then made Vale folklore scoring the opening goal in the final.

His family were really invested with the Vale fans at games and we wanted him back but Huddersfield wanted him to stay in League Two for more game time.

He's done well back at Huddersfield late season so would probably look at him again if available but obviously need a decent League One striker to replace Wilson/Proctor foremost.

We all do stupid things when we are young. One day he will realise it was a mistake signing for Bradford :bg:

I don't want to see them go bust, don't get me wrong I want them to suffer a bit , like we did, fielding a team of kids and getting thrashed every week , not even allowed to sell season tickets until October and only allowed to sell tickets until a day before the game. A period of stagnation in L2 would be ok for me. The thing is they are a spawny club, their previous owners wrote off 36 million pounds last time so they had a clean slate when they eventually got taken over with no debt. But they have overspent exactly the same again, think it might be a bit more serious this time.

Wishing a club goes bust cos of a few words on twitter, wow you're a fucking imbecile.

I didn't wish they'd go bust, I just said it would be funny if they did after that twitter fan being a complete cock.

But even if they did go bust then it's their own fucking fault for splashing insane amounts of cash while clubs like mine are sensible and get only 1 promotion in 17 years, where as they won an FA Cup, been in the Premier league and played at a high level for so long.

Wigan carry on at this rate I’d actually bring in to play relegating them to L2 and promoting either the playoff runner up or reprieving fourth bottom.

As with Fleetwood albeit with different circumstances of course it’s the behind the scenes staff I feel sorry for. The players wages will be covered by the PFA but for them there are mortgages etc they’ll be worried about meeting the payments. It’s a disgrace to be honest.

How’s it work in terms of points deductions? I.e if not paid again will more come into play?

Bonkers and you’d imagine would put off players going there.

Wigan and their fans have such an exaggerated opinion of their truth worth They have put out a statement demanding the owners put in at least £10 million into the club by next Friday or they will demand the owners put the club up for sale. Just shows the level of investment they are used to and expect, They call every owner they have had since Whelan thieves and con merchants when it goes pear shaped even though these owners have lost millions of pounds bankrolling them. The current owners have already invested £20 million into them and as equity not debt. Their fans really are spoilt brats. They might have a shock if they are put up for sale and ,,guess what no one wants to buy them

There’s probably a generation of them who started following them in the Premier League when they competed pretty well for a period of time and saw them win an FA Cup so probably view that as their norm as opposed to the reality. Doubt they’d have experienced the Wigan I remember which was as a third or fourth tier club on those mudbanks at Springfield Park.

The truth is I don’t think they have the support to sustain the kind of spending they were doing. Even in the Premier League they weren’t exactly selling out. Nothing wrong with that but they need to come back to reality a bit.

No wasn’t it Arsenal in the Prem they played and the ground looked half empty. Not a huge stadium either is it, it’s a proper Rugby town and football just isn’t the main pull there I guess.

Holds around 25000 I think in total, seemed quite a regular thing even then. The one benefit they have had I guess is they do have quite a large away capacity so could get good revenue through that. How often they’ll benefit from that next season I doubt it’ll be much though.

Very true, particularly in Greater Manchester where you have two of the biggest and richest clubs in the world on your door step and another one in Liverpool just round the corner. Football fans in the area now actively support them after generations of their families being say Bolton, Bury or Oldham fans. Still a fair few stick with Bolton but it is difficult when if you go to a match you get back at practically the same time whether you went to Old Trafford or the Tough Sheet.

We do well considering.

Certainly helps that there’s good numbers in surrounding towns like Leigh, Atherton and Chorley in particular. Then further afield up towards Lancaster etc, supporters branch there has over 250 annually paid members.

I think the biggest problem Wigan currently have is the set-up doesn’t represent the size of club.

Their fanbase and prospective owners look at a top class ground, good facilities and set up and think ‘premiership club’

The harsh reality the club is at best really league one and unless someone is happy to drain and flush away lots of their own cash it isn’t going to be much higher.

think it’s why owners come in spend like crazy then suddenly stop when they realise the income streams are not as good as expected

Doesn’t seem to be a lot of media commentary on Wigan’s or Fleetwood’s issues, this is what happens when you drop down the leagues.

Couple of Wigans directors now stepped down with a pretty damning statement. More you see it’s incredibly likely they will start next season in admin.

Hopefully Wigan DO get relegated to League Two this time and spend a good amount of time down there to learn some humility and how to run a club in a sensible manner.

Not fucking cheating it for instant success.

If the source is from the Wigan owners end I probably wouldn’t hold my breath waiting. They seem the masters at the “cheque is in the mail” routine. Seems just all a little too convenient to me and a delaying tactic. Hopefully I’m wrong and for Wigan it turns out well and they get some owners who will run them sensibly and sustainably or will just be repeating the cycle of the last few years.

Seems to be something on the club site too but as you say could be just be they are in talks and as they have found out new owners aren't always the saviors in shining armour.

Wigan will always get new owners because the set up is impressive it is much easier to sell Wigan with all the facilities than say Carlisle with theirs.

It doesn’t mean much as the income both get is similar but they need an owner to realise their spending needs to be managed better, they still have a chance of championship like most here.

A never ending cycle of spend too much, get taken over, spend too much, get taken over. That cycle has got to be broken at some point.

Charlton getting new owners as well, although one of them looks like he might be one of the guys who was involved at Sunderland (not Donald, he's back at Eastleigh).

what a prick he was in that Sunderland documentary when trying to sign Will Grigg. Got trussed up like a turkey. Where clubs have merry-go-round managers there is also a small band of merry-go-round owners. Nefarious fuckers.

I have not kept up to date with the Charlton ownership saga but I thought the guy that was selling was supposed to be a more stable pair of hands, what has caused him to sell? Also does belgian ex owner still own the stadium etc?

Looking forward to some EDM when I visit the Valley this season.

Sounds like this deal for Wigan is the same 21 year old who has been going after Morecambe for months.

Doesn't sound the answer to all their prayers to me.
