I'm enjoying all the toys being thrown out of a pram about one marginal offside decision last night.
Yes, welcome to the world of normal football.
Ipswich's 2nd goal in the 3rd round against us was as offside as you can get. As it was us, nobody cares

There's an article in the FT which is pay walled which says

League One clubs spent more on player signings in 24/25 than in the previous 8 years combined.

No guesses why.

Hopefully from next season things will be back to normal

I don’t think some of these clubs fanbases quite realise how much money they are happy to splurge on decent third tier players. Insane.

Confirmed that the EFL have forced us to play our game away at Wrexham on the 18th. Midweek away trip to Wales at 8 days notice. C*nts.

That’s Wrexham, Bolton, Birmingham & Rotherham away in the space of 14 days.

And on top of that Mansfield away will likely be called off during the next international break, meaning a midweek trip there too.

I sort of get why the EFL have done this, to avoid a major fixture pile up come April because fixtures can't be rearranged during the international weeks and either side of Easters fixtures and Wrexham and Birmingham are both in the EFL trophy and if both reach the final then there will be more fixture movement.

But its still a PITA, I'd like to think this could've been done better. Oh well, at least I don't have to go to work for a full week for 3 straight weeks.

Sky have moved our home game v Charlton to a 12.30 kick off and will apparently be picking fixtures on a weekly basis.

Get prepared for regularly being fucked over, folks.
We have Orient the week before, 30 minutes down the road for fans, play off rival but they pick this one instead and make it difficult for fans ...
That being said, I'm happy Orient is 3pm but if you have to pick a game that makes much more sense

Absolutely not complaining about this, and it's great that the fixture isn't being rescheduled, but I'm quite surprised that our 15th March home game v Wxm hasn't been picked for Sky, considering some of the games they choose...

Baffling that is hasn't been chosen, but as I'm planning on going I'm not complaining at all.

Accounts released for Shrewsbury today for the year to June 2024. Loss of £1.6m, which is half of the previous year. Income up and expenses down.

Wages (before taxes and pensions) reduced last year to £4.9m from £5.2m the previous year. Likely to be lower again this year. Shows how we struggle to compete at this level and why Ainsworth says we have the lowest budget in the league.

Chairman had put in £2.1m in loans up to June 24. He has since converted it all to shares. Need a big cash injection to compete

Is your owner still looking to sell?

Some news regarding our ownership, rumours floating around the fanbase that our chairman Nigel Travis has agreed to sell his stake in the club (Or accept a large sum of investment) to an American business man called David Gandler, who has in the past been part of a consortium which did own Paris FC until they was recently bought out. Been told by some usual sources that its 100% done and its now just awaiting to be rubber stamped.

I don't expect any formal annoucement myself until the end of the season given we're chasing a playoff place.

Apparently he's already injected some money in which allowed us to buy Sonny Perkins pernamently, Azeem Abdulai and Rarmani Edmonds-Green and put them on two and a half year deals each.

Apparently so. According to the CEO at the recent supporters meeting still in an exclusivity period with an interested party and due diligence being done, hence the delay of our accounts being published as the finance team has been dealing with this.

They're still hopeful it'll happen by the end of the season. They did initially say they hoped it would be done by the end of January.

Ainsworth is always talking about how the future is going to be great with extra investment. It's assumed that he is in the know with what's going on. Can't see him sticking around if it doesn't happen

I see Bristol Rovers are involved in more racism allegations. This isn't the first time is it? What's wrong with their fans? Every club has this element to some degree still but it seems like they have more than their fair share.

I don’t see what more they can do in all honesty if they find the guy and ban them.

You can’t account for individuals behaving like arses, all any club can do is show zero tolerance and make it clear that that’s their policy.

It sounds like the club are doing the right thing (ejecting fans when it's known they are shouting racist abuse etc) but it's just strange that there have been a number of issues with Rovers fans recently.

Racism exists in society sadly, and it's also on the rise, but I wonder why Bristol in particular are having these issues. It's a pretty racially diverse city -you'd think they would have less of an issue than some other places.

I think we both know the answer to this.

Word on the East End alleyway is that our takeover is all but signed, sealed & delivered. New chap (another Septic, I believe) funded our impressive January recruitment. Waiting until the end of the season to be announced for the sake of continuity.

Nothing will happen, like the Bolton fan who shouted abuse at Magennis. Probably still going to games.

Birmingham is one of the most diverse cities in the world and sadly there was still racial abuse targeted at our fans on Saturday. Sadly seems to be back on the rise in football but also good it’s being called out more, there’s idiots at every club
