Sorry Scummy, but I think it's 2 from 3 now.

Preston go marching on, what a difference Garner has made since he got back.

Good win for Swindon as well, fair play.

Only Karl Robinson believes we are still in the hunt. :fl:

He needn't worry, his target *should* be met.

I thought MK Dons were the best in the league? Well thats what Keith Andrews said when he returned to the club the day before they played us.

10th Doncaster(35) - 50 points. Swindon(H), Coventry(A), MK Dons(A), Bradford(H), Sheff U(A)

Well, the first thing to note is that so many of the top 10 play each other over the next few weeks. So many huge games which will have big bearings over the automatic promotion and top 6 races.

Bristol City drew at home to Gillingham, but now have 80 points and probably only need another 5 to pretty much guarantee a top 2 finish. Promotion edging ever closer for them, especially with an easy home win on Tuesday to follow. Preston smashed Crewe and now have some tricky fixtures coming up. But they are in good form, so will feel confident of getting some points.

Swindon got back on track away from home with a narrow win at Port Vale. 2 more away games for them now, will likely need to keep picking up points to keep Preston in sight. MK Dons continue to stutter, 4 games without a win and only 2 wins in 9. Need to pick it up in their next 2. Sheff U are also 4 without a win and are now facing a fight to hold onto their play off spot. Barnsley have now won 6 in a row and have gone from relegation battle to a proper promotion scrap. Unbelievable rise from them.

Posh also keep winning under the caretaker manager, they've won 4 on the spin. They are also firmly back in the promotion fight. Fleetwood have picked up a couple of decent wins against Sheff U and Rochdale, they could make a surprise challenge. Bradford's cup exploits are arguably distracting them at the moment, only 1 win in 6. They don't play on Tuesday, need to pick it up with 3 straight home games from next Saturday onwards. Donny lost ground after holding 6th spot for a few games. Their home form is probably going to cost them in the long run.

So, Bristol City for the title, PNE battling Swindon for 2nd and 2 from 6+ for the final 2 play off spots?

Excellent post above. After today's result I would be quite keen to win these next two home matches! I would like a stress-free April as possible.

If Preston would have had Garner for the whole season, they'd be where we are right now.

I predicted all the right results last week bar MK's, so here goes again.

City and Preston win, MK and Swindon draw (which is contradicting myself as I said Swindon win on their match thread, but a last second mind change)

Tomorrow results i see a Bristol win, Swindon win (Plz get something Doncaster!!). MK Draw but not too concerned with about MK's results as i think it will be urs or Swindons now.

As for us, every game is huge now with Swindon picking up form! Tough tough game for us against a inform Peterborugh side, hopefully we can just edge it and leave ourselves room for possible slip up at Barnsley on Saturday!

After saying that, there is no reason why we cant win these 2 games after our recent run and performances.

Despite our position, this really is a must win game, for psychlogical reasons as much as anything else. I cant see a second successive home draw against a bottom half team going down well with our fickle fanbase and if Preston and Swindon both win there will probably be mass panic.

We arent playing in the league at the weekend and we cant allow anybody the chance to gain any significant ground on us. A win would cool any lingering worries.

You're about 15 points ahead of every other fucker. Stop attention seeking!

MK Dons aren't out of it at all yet.

We all thought Preston were 4 weeks ago, now look. A lot can happen/change between now and the end of season.

Law of averages says Preston will have a little blip at some point.

They better fucking do anyway!! :)

I think the only way we will catch Bristol City is if we win 10/11 games (including against them at Deepdale). Win our 2 games in hand and beat them and it's only 2 points the gap, but there is no way in hell we will win pretty much all our remaining games.

Congrats on your Title, Brizzle :)

Mad to think that there is a semi-reasonable chance that we could be 5pts clear of 3rd with a game in hand tonight.

I can see us losing the odd game but Im pretty confident we won't have a blip. The squad we have at the minute is by far the strongest its been all season.

Previous victories are no guarantee of future victories - see your run of 8 successive victories earlier in the season.

As zander just said, we are a completely different side. Far far better than we were earlier in the season.

We had Jamie Jones in goal then, a catastrophe was always around the corner.

Fair point though, it won't be plain sailing for either of us.

I wasn't really comparing the 2, just the fact that the tap can just as easily been turned off.

Still think you are favs, though

Yeah, we are still likely to fuck it up, I've supported us long enough to know that.

Long term gains.

And I've supported us long enough to know we won't take advantage. Which leaves one outcome....

MK for promotion!

for some reason I always thought you were an MK Dons supporter :conf:

my baaaad

I've picked them twice on that last man standing game, probably why.

They've fucked up both times though, so naturally I'll pick Preston next time :2thumb:
