Rumour that Jack Tucker has left the club and signed for someone in League One.

Good defender but does make errors. Still young though.
We tried to sign him in January. But won't pay compensation fees, so unless we've negotiated then thats us out

Gosh -- I remember watching you when you had the England goalie Ron Springett. Wednesday really need to get back up the divisions .
I remember watching them in the early 90's when they had Chris Waddle tearing down the wing...hard to believe that we will be playing them next season!

Yeah it's soul destroying for us too.

In for David Stockdale apparently, underwhelming!!!

Agree with this. I reckon Moore will give Dawson another go and maybe use Stockdale as an experienced back up and bit of a mentor.

Hearing that Luke Molyneaux is going to Portsmouth, don't know too much about him but its certainly a step up.

Dawson is unpopular at the club, can see him being sold

Been linked with Portsmouth since end of the season, there was talks of a few others including Derby but that's an easy swerve now.

Kane Wilson signs for Bristol City. Deserves to play at that level so good luck to him.

Anything rumoured with Cadden yet Chris? He’s always been the one who impressed me more than anyone.

Our usually accurate 'in the knows' say we've been in talks with him, and of course he/his agent will be in talks with him as well (states the obvious). That said we've been rumoured to be trying to get him since last summer so I have my doubts we'll get him.

We're close to a couple apparently, one being an attacker, perhaps some news next week.

Off the pitch, Appleton's assistant and first team coach have now left so presumably we'll hear of their replacements soon. First team coach will probably be Tom Shaw, he's been with us for two or three years and was combining his Academy role here with managing Gainsborough Trinity last season, who we loaned quite a few of our U18's to.

Heard stuff about Reading, Oxford and even Bradford (can't see it) but not sure tbh, our DoF was still making positive noises a couple of weeks back hoping our new manager could still try and persuade him but we'll see.

On another note Dan Sweeney has announced he's leaving too, that's 3 of the 5 we were 'in discussions' with that have gone still waiting on Cadds and Diallo. Dan's a quality player will make a good signing for someone, most likely in league 2.

Looks like a big turnover this summer, more then half last seasons squad will likely have gone plus obviously the management team as well.

Hate this part of the summer, the absolute shite peddled by agents or twitter gimps about who is signing for your club is tedious.

We need 8/10 in to cover the departures/loanees.

GK
RWB (if Hunt doesn't re-sign)
LWB
CH x 3
CM (if Luongo doesn't re-sign)
LW/RW who can play either wing
CF x 2 (A big lad and the other with pace)

Based on that we re linked with
GK : Marosi and Stockdale
CH : Dean, Heneghan, Tucker
CM : Vaulks, Camara
CF : Bonne, Smith, Wilks

I wasn't surprised by Sweeney leaving, suspect that the club my have offered him a one year contract (as I think they may have done with Stokes at the end of the previous season) and he probably wanted something a little more secure...don't think he will struggle to find a club. Diallo is an interesting one as he was signed by Edwards on a one year contract, thought he started really brightly and was one of our best players in the first half against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, unlucky to get injured and not really feature significantly when available again. I would be happy to see him stay as I think there is potential there, but like Sweeney I think he would probably want a longer contract, which may not be what was offered.

By my reckoning we have sixteen players at the club, but that includes the two with contract offers, one (Stevens) who could miss most of the season recovering from his ACL injury and of course the largely untested Bunker. A bit of quick maths suggests that, if the two with contract offers decide to leave we have a squad of only 13/14 players. The next couple of weeks will be busy on the new player front, maybe 7/8 joining, guess the number depends on how many we try to bring in on loan...recent evidence suggests the club don't favour that approach with only two spending time with us last season...interesting times ahead.

Attitude but perhaps the year away has changed him
That’s surprising. Dawson came across as a really top bloke and really bought into what we are as a football club.

It does sound like he needs to move on and settle else where. I highly doubt it will be with us unless it’s another loan.

My guess is Diallo will go, came here due to his connection with Edwards but despite that barely played. Cadden I'm not sure about, would be brilliant to keep him obviously but he won't be short of offers.

So yeah with the 2 signings last week that's 14 signed one of who is out injured and another who's a kid with virtually zero EFL experience. Lot of work to do. I think loans will be key at this level if we want enough league 1 quality, Hughes said he is actually a fan of loans providing they are the right fit and he has decent contacts within PL academies etc due to his previous jobs. At this level it's probably easier to get clubs to send you slightly better prospects some of who might already had a league 2 loan which can be a big help in helping them adjust to the physicality.

Chris FGR Think you are right about Diallo, suspect he will be out the door...would be happy if Cadden stayed, but hope the new coaching staff work with him on his corners, they weren't the best towards the end of last season (am I being critical here...maybe a little but it frustrates me how little we threaten at times from dead ball situations...yeah, OK that is a bit harsh, he is a pretty decent player). It looks like Little knows how to take a free kick, so that is definitely a positive from a new arrival.

I know there is a bit of a link between Burchnall and Potter, so I wonder if we might see a few U-23's in from Brighton, the last player they loaned us did pretty well. I was hopefull that Aitchison might be signed permanently as he impressed me last season and I think he could do pretty well in League One, but sadly that will be with Barnsley unless the new management there don't fancy him...mind you the way he said his thanks and goodbyes suggested that it was for good this time...although I would consider it lucky if we could get him back for a third time.

Yeah I can imagine a lot using Wednesdays name to get other (smaller more realistic clubs) to maybe up their bids

Heard nothing this end yet. However we were supposed to be interested a few weeks back so wouldn't be surprised.

Looks like we’ll be making our first signing of the summer today according to our Twitter account. Some suggesting it’s Lewis Cass who we had on loan from Newcastle last season and did very well. Be a good start if so.

Wife probably wondering why I was making weird noises from the other room! chuffed with this can see the boy had real quality and should make the step up. Was a huge blow to lose him in January and never really recovered until putting Gibbo at RCB in the play off semi.

Done well to get him as there were clubs rumoured to be sniffing round him in January before his injury. Challinor at Stockport I reckon might have been interested as he played for him at Hartlepool. Did feel like a signing we’d make this summer as at Wembley they had a space for him in the dressing room even though he wasn’t here at that point.

They can make my summer now if get Dennis Politic home as well permanently.

Really good footballing defender who can comfortably bring the ball out of defence, is athletic and has ability. Can only get better.

Newcastle offered him a contract too, so we've had to pay some sort of fee. Good start.

Yep thought when he got a new deal we’d lose him.

I thought he only signed a 18 month contract with Cremonese in Jan?
