Keanu Baccus. Played for St Mirren, and an Aussie international
Strongly linked with us last season...............wont sugar coat it he simply turned us down after the Aussie Manager said he would not pick him in league one................Think you are getting played

That makes no sense, be playing a higher standard of football in L1.

It will be, we’re only interested in bringing Lewis Brunt back in that position after an excellent season on loan from Leicester, if he tells to get fucked I’d hope we’re going for better than Vassell

brunt on loan works, leicester went up we did, he apparently loved it here - everyone’s a winner

Centre back Jack Simpson re-signs for a season, big season for him to rebuild his reputation after Cardiff sacked him for racism. He shouldn't really be playing at this level with his ability, two footed and ability wise a big upgrade on Omar Beckles and Brandon Cooper.

Just need waiting on Dan Happe to sign now to see if we can keep all 4 centre backs, most people think Happe will be off though.

Feel like this one makes sense for neither Mansfield or Lincoln, could be agent talk to help get a deal with a L2 side like County.
Yeah that one doesn't make sense to me, we've already got two experienced CB's in O'Connor (26) and Jackson (29) and we don't generally carry too many players over 25 full stop, especially so many in one area of the pitch.

Good player who has been linked with quite a few Championship clubs the last 12 months. Didn't look out of his depth playing in the world cup against Argentina and has done well for Australia since, I personally thought he would have moved to a championship club or Rangers, so fair play getting him (disclaimer - I'm Aussie).

Side note - his brother who plays in Oz has just been arrested for spot-fixing along with 2 teammates.

Reece James just been announced and will join the squad once his contract expires at Hillsborough.

Another 30 year old but a good player and we desperately needed a LB.
Evo not messing about!

I like what we are doing so far in Gregory and Baccus, despite keeping the same squad it’s clear we are after 5/6 that will improve our starting eleven.

Few eyebrows raised from Scottish fans over this one, but make no doubt about it this still a step up from St Mirren, I suppose it’s more the fact he’s not ended up at someone like a Bolton.

Watch a lot of Scottish football and Bacchus is class and a key reason as to why St Mirren are going to Europe next season. However, I genuinely thought he'd make the move to a bigger club in Scotland like Hearts or go to another European top flight potentially. Very good signing for Mansfield nonetheless.

Whereas we had a very good league 2 side it’s obvious we needed reinforcements, in both him and gregory they’re 2 very good signings for us. Still need some pace though

It was the same 18 months ago when we signed Ethan Erhahon from St Mirren (who will end up being by far our record sale when he's sold either this summer or next).

The feedback we got was that these kinda players are now more receptive to spending one or two years playing week in, week out in L1 than jumping straight into a big L1 or Championship side and risk not playing as often, as they have done previously. Obviously that's not to say they'll even make it to the Championship at all, mind.

Erhahon has said it's a step up in pretty much every area of the game even at L1 level but more so the intensity of schedule and the need to be 'on it' all the time unlike in Scotland.

Hope for your sake that Joe White has improved since he was with us.
Though by all accounts he has.
