We are scarily quiet so far this window. Two youth players from Wolves, but we need atleast 3 more with all our injuries!

Squad ravaged by injuries.

Holmes off to Sheffield United and Konsa looking like he's headed to Everton, as if we wasn't depleted enough. Robinson has also said with everything still up in the air regarding a takeover he doesn't foresee any more incomings.

In short, we are absolutely fucked.

The Holmes one seems a bit strange, didn't he have a chance to go there for free in the summer, only to sign a new contract? I wonder what's changed, big loss for you, not that I'll be complaining, I had Charlton down as certainties for top 6 pre season.

Heard mention we might be signing Toni Gomes on loan from Liverpool.

A light-weight, head-down-and-run winger (hello Elliot List!) who had been tearing up literally nothing with Forest Green Rovers during his recently ended loan spell with them.

I expect big things from the lad.

Shame, as I was hoping McCall might’ve tabled a bid for Magennis.

Looks like we're signing Joe Pigott from Maidstone. Played in the league before but not done much by the look of it.

Hmmmm.

Confirmed we've signed Isaac Buckley-Ricketts on loan from Man City until the end of the season. A 19 year old winger who was part of England's u19 European Championship winning side.

He has been on loan at FC Twente this season so far playing 6 times but Man City recalled him as he wasn't getting enough 1st team action. Only going on some dubious media reports but we beat Bolton (and other clubs not named) to his signature.

Hmmmm.

The commentators were raving about him when Maidstone were live on BT recently.

Had a stinker for Sunderland this season but I’m happy with Vaughan coming in. Guaranteed goals at this level. Hopefully he can be like Clarke has been for Blades if he steps up with us next season.

Pigott was just one a recent long line of big tall strikers we have had either permanently or on loan that seemed either afraid to put themselves about or not bothered enough.

Step forward Luke Norris, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Frank Nouble, Joe Quigley - plus the jury is out on Conor Wilkinson.

But now we finally have a beast - Tom Eeeeeaves !

Not too sure what's going on, have now seen a seperate article where Robinson says he has spoken to Ricky who said he's happy and wants to stay although that may just be some sort of tactic to put off any bidders.

He wasn't going for free in the summer, we stood firm for once and knocked a few bids back.

In my opinion, Holmes was probably convinced to stay and try and get the team up etc. We've now got next to no chance of getting promoted, the ownership of the club up in the air and there will be no strengthening of the side this window, I don't really blame him for wanting out if there's fresh interest. Could be his last chance at a crack in the Championship.

Shame, as I was hoping McCall might’ve tabled a bid for Magennis.

Honestly, if we weren't so short on bodies I would be more than happy to see him leave. Utterly useless this season, unfortunately we're so short on players that Robinson is even considering recalling Ajose.

Hmmmm.

I would say L2 is his ceiling.

He broke into our team whilst in the Championship and was completely out of his depth, don't recall him doing much in this league but certainly scores plenty in the lower leagues. He might do ok, sure he'll get a great reception from Southend fans.

No. Taylor's our only fully fit striker at the moment. Appiah's out until near the end of the season and McDonald is playing with a broken metatarsal.

It was confirmed by club officials that the bid for a League One player was only plausible if said club was able to sign and replace our target. I appreciate that he may be your only fit striker, but with the signing of Piggott and potentially Carlton Cole, do you feel Taylor still isn’t moving anywhere this window?

Walsall/Oldham fans - Thoughts on James Wilson? Signed here on a permanent today.

Rochdale - Jordan Williams? We tried to sign him last summer but he chose you, so it's not a massive surprise we've moved for him again albeit on loan. From what I've read, he's not made the step up to L1?

Rochdale have also signed Billy Knott on loan from us for the rest of the season. His time here went as expected. Just didn't fit into our formation or style. Not through lack of effort - you could see he wanted it to work out here but sometimes you just have to accept that it isn't happening or going to happen.

He either needed to be in a 3 in midfield, which we don't play or as a number 10, but he's up against a completely different player in Rhead and playing Knott in there would have to see a complete shift in style. We also tried to get him in the side as a left winger, which, despite him working hard and putting a shift in, never looked the answer.

Good luck to him playing on that pitch, mind. If you were to pick a pitch that would be the least suited to Knott, it'd be Spotland.

Don't think we'll be seeing him again. He hasn't seemed to be able to settle or fit in anywhere over the last 4 or 5 years. Something needs to happen for him sharpish, or he's going to end up in the National League or worse still, playing PT in the National League South.

Re Wilson, when he had a leader on the pitch next to him he was very good for us. When he didn’t he was absolutely woeful.

Unfortunately, the woeful outwore the good times.

He’s steady enough for L2 though, so I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Billy Knott down to a T unfortunately, nice lad half our fans said we didn't suit his game, other half said he wasn't good enough. Sadly I think it's the latter, he's had so many chances and grabbed none, when he scored against Leeds early in his career with us I thought we might have a star on our hands, but that was as good as it got.

I would very much doubt that Lyle taylor is going anywhere this season.Relegation would be a near certainty if he was allowed to go and neal ardley would be receiving his p45 come the end of the season!!!. Carlton cole,a replacement,i think not !!!!!!

Cheers. He's got big, Sean Raggett size boots to fill unfortunately for him!

Yeah, we've had the same here. Bar his contributions in a 3 or 4 game at the end of last season, we've not really seen anything in his year here.

We're pretty guff ourselves at the minute, you won't have a much better chance to stop the rot than against us tomorrow.

That was in the National League though. Can he do it in L1?

That will remain to be seen, plenty have dropped down and come back up being successful. Then again, he could be a dud. :bg:
