I'd still imagine Berry has championship suitors so would be tough to convince him to drop down. Allan Campbell I'd be pretty happy with. I've been worried will end up half of the 18/19 Luton League One squad :bg:

LuaLua was a bit of a failed experiment, just didn't have the legs anymore.

Should be an interesting window. Seems like Jones is the one calling the shots now. Owners main policy was to sign young players, progress them and profit but it seems Jones much prefers the experienced player.
There will certainly be a few of his favourites available I think - Cornick, Campbell, perhaps James Collins depending on what Derby want to do with him, Kal Naismith perhaps too.

Sounds like we're off to Scandinavia for some of our recruitment this summer with Ireland becoming saturated after it only really being a handful of EFL sides including ourselves having a presence over there in recent years.

We might end up having a higher turnover of players than initially thought. From a podcast released last night we only got Jensen because we agreed to a two year deal without an option so we need to decide whether to cash in. He's been in the top performers under pretty much every GK metric this season but they don't usually bring in the big money so I'd be inclined to keep him and risk losing him on a free next summer.

Doesn't sound like we can get to Sorenson's wage to get him to sign a new deal so that's another decision to make and one I think we'd rather sell now, Mandroiu is already a top earner apparently and to be honest I'm not sure he's done enough over the two years to break the bank for and if he thinks he can get a better offer elsewhere then fair enough. Montsma's new offer is a pay-as-you-play type short deal deal until January to see how he is after his ACL and thankfully Erhahon appears to have another two years, possibly three, left on his deal - he'll be the big money maker for us.

We could end up having to try and replace one of the best GK's in L1, our most consistent player, our best permanent signing for many years and top scorer in the summer, which seems a big ask but is par for the course when a non-Derby/Bolton/Posh etc club in the division has a good season.

A handful of those under contract who were out on loan for some/all of last season will probably be moved on as well.

Haha no, but we are beefing up the recruitment and data analysis departments and have 6(!) new role vacancies!

Being heavily linked with Theo Bair. Off the back of a good season at Motherwell, definitely fits the Jones build. If he does sign will be interesting if Jones looks for May to feed off him or if he plays Leaburn alongside him

Stockport and Birmingham in for Bradley Dack apparently. As mentioned before recruitment will be key for Birmingham bouncing straight back up, not sure this is a great sign for them. I assume he will be on relatively high wages, is pretty injury prone and is on the back of 4/5 underwhelming seasons now.

We were allegedly close to signing him in January, but the terms of the deal weee changed when he started scoring regularly!

Looks like a very good player to me.

Paper/agent talk, don't see us being in for him at all

Mal Benning signs a new two year contract. Happy with that as I was underwhelmed when he signed last summer but I have to admit, he’s been a solid signing in the end.

Rumours that Marosi, Dunkley and Udoh are all set to reject new contract offers. Dunkley I’m not arsed about but losing Marosi and Udoh is a big, big blow. Marosi apparently off to the Championship and rumour on our forum suggests Cardiff, Millwall and Birmingham in for Udoh.

Lucas Akins, Ollie Clarke and George Maris all agreed new deals in principle, hoping to get the latter over the line in particular as I can see other L1 interest in him.

We’ll be back in for Lee Gregory aswell, Clough was keen in Jan but couldn’t get it done as Wednesday wanted all of his rumoured 10k in wages paying by us. Free agent now though and wants to stay local to Sheff. Derby also interested in Jan but after their promotion I doubt they’ll be back in for him.

I put Gregory in the Flint category too, sometimes the older ones really are worth it.

I think we missed that little bit upfront last season, whereas obviously we had akins i think there needs to be another avenue this season, one that will help the likes of swan, he’d be a brilliant signing.

Our captain Darren Pratley has signed a one year extension, he'll be 40 by the end of next season. The only player born in the same year as me still playing in the EFL

Will be a bit part player but apparently an important role model in the squad.

I see Madden has gone to Chesterfield. Presumably he felt he was too old for League One.

It's hard to defend against the claims out fans are deluded because some of them are!

I swear some wouldn't be happy until we have a squad made up solely of 35 year old ex-Prem players. Whereas we just have two of those.

Surprised we gave him another year, was convinced he was moving into a coaching role.

Our owner has said "we couldn't give him the offer he deserves" Basically we couldn't offer more than one year for a player who's 34 whereas Chesterfield could and did.

I've not watched the interview with our owner yet, it dropped this morning but apparently we want to sign Louie Barry permanantly which would be some going tbf. Not sure if that's feasible but to get him back in any capacity would be great. His two months before his injury, he was one of the best players I've ever seen play for us tbh. He scored a goal at home to Wrexham where he got the ball 35-40 yards from goal, started dribbling with it and as soon as he set off I knew he was going to take them all on and score. Could just tell from the way he set off.

Stott did confirm overruling everyone else and insisting on a two-year offer to Hinchliffe! The right kind of move an owner should make

Would be astonishing if we could get Barry, part of me is concerned whether he can recapture his pre-injury speed and terror though.

Ben Fox signs a new deal with us. Had big injury problems during his stay here which is how he found himself in non league previously with Grimsby. That being said when he is fit he is L1 quality and an all around midfielder. 1 year deal with the option (not sure if player or club) on the extra year, happy with that.

Has Barry turned into a player now then? looked pretty poor when I saw him at Swindle

Ben Hinchcliffe, fucking hell, that's a blast from the past, used to play against him regularly when I was a teenager.

He looked a brilliant player in his spell with us. But it's to be noted he did a full hamstring tear in late October so the sample size isn't massive and also recovery etc. But he came back for a couple of halves near the end and the half I saw him play against Accrington 2nd to last game of the season he still looked a real player. Gave their right back twisted blood all half so he still has something post-injury thats for sure.

I think we may have to settle for a loan to get him back but I'd be all for it. But sounds like our owner fancies buying him as we want as many young players with re-sale value as possible as we start working more towards that model than the tried and tested player model we applied more in L2 and NL.
