He's hopeless, I wouldn't even want him as 5th or 6th choice, Conny North player at absolute best, his agent must be a literal robe wearing wizard, pointy hat, crystal ball the lot if he pulls this off.

Just a rumour doing the rounds but reckon there’s truth to it. He’s cutting short his current loan spell to get the move.

He’ll probably just be in as back up, 5th or 6th choice striker. But our manager obviously sees something in him to make the step up.

But yeah Carver to Carlisle here we go.
Christ the fact you're talking about having a 5th or 6th choice striker. We've got about two, unless you play someone out of position.

We've only got one!
Seems to be a shortage of anyone even half decent in that position.

I suppose when there's Championship and now League 2 clubs spending seemingly irresponsible amounts of money it's going to be increasingly tough for clubs like ours who budget more wisely.

This is the biggest load of crap I've heard all summer, as if we would want to sign some non-league loser haha. What have you been smoking HG? This is surely a wind up from you.

Bit short on defenders with two out already so a very last season back 3!

Otherwise as I expected, strong bench

Word at the match today was that the Carver deal has hit a potential snag and is on the verge of collapsing. Unconfirmed reports at this stage but it’s not as far down the line as it appeared to be yesterday.

Is the snag he is a bit pants?

Waghorn has agreed to sign, nothing been made official but should be soon. He probably walks into the club as our best striker, so it’s depth but hopefully we can get someone better soon.

Ryan Woods was at our game today after he was told by Hull City that he could leave the club this week.

Probably the joint best midfielder I’ve ever seen in a Salop shirt along with Ben Godfrey. We sold Woods to Brentford for £1 million back in 2015. Honestly thought he would go on to play regularly at Premier League level at his current age (29) but for whatever reason that’s not happened. IF and it’s a big IF, we get Woods back then I reckon we could push towards the top 6. Even more so if Collins returns too.

We’re being linked to Harrogate striker Luke Armstrong. That’s very out of the blue but seems like he’d be a decent option up top.

Don’t Harrogate want ridiculous money for him? Probably end up at Tourist FC with the silly money they’re throwing about. Only seen him 2 or 3 times but looks a very good player and will step up to League 1 just fine if you do get him.

I have seen some speculation that we will be selling Nombe and spending much of the money on him.
Can't remember him if he played against us but I really hope this isn't the case.
I doubt Wrexham will sign him having just forked out for McClean.

Yeah think it’d be a big fee, certainly by our standards. The fact it’s come out of nowhere makes me wonder if there’s some truth. The Harrogate manager says they’ve had some proper bids this last week and the player is trying to force a move away.

Caldwell says we’d only sell Nombe for a silly fee but maybe things have changed and we now have Armstrong lined up as a replacement.

Owner has said our final planned signing, an attacking midfielder will sign today or tomorrow. Possibly anjorin from Chelsea, but if not we have a few other options. Desperate missed someone with some flair in the middle of the park yesterday

Another couple of rumoured for our attacking midfield position - Jensen Wier and Lewis Fiorini on loan.

Wolves have finally agreed to let Nathan Fraser out on loan. We’ve been after him all summer and apparently he gets to choose between us and Cheltenham (more fuel for the Robins to dislike us). Wolves fans seem a bit naffed off about the decision as they believe he should be on the bench. Only 18 years old but seems like he has a big future ahead of him.

Getting him experience so ready for the Championship next season.

Looks like we’ve had a bid accepted for Finnish winger Ilmari Niskanen who’s at Dundee Utd. 17 caps for Finland and 25 years old, so could be a good’un for us.

Killian Phillips apparently coming on loan from Palarse, was previously on loan at Shrews.

Not sure what to make of that, only because we've already got 2 green Prem loanee midfielders to accommodate, this isn't a position I'd have strengthened...I'd say we need a striker more, but oh well.

How!? Phillips should be on his way to a Championship club this summer to help with his development, not League 1. He’s far too good for this level. Give it another season or two and he’ll be a regular starter for Palace/a Prem club. Be an unreal signing for you lads… first Leahy now this. Jealous.

We’ve signed wing back Jack Burroughs on a season long loan from Coventry. Can play both sides apparently.

It’s an area we needed to sort (I’m not 100% convinced we were even planning on signing one until recently tbh) because one injury there and it currently messes our entire defence up as seen at Bolton last Saturday.

First loan of the season and last Saturday was apparently the first time we named a starting XI without a loan signing since away at Cambridge in December 2018!

We've signed keeper Jokull Andresson from reading on a season long loan. Seen as someone who can challenge Holy for our number 1 position. Remember him being well thought of at Exeter in L2, surprised he's not risen further up the pecking order at reading

Andresson splits opinion amongst our fans. Some say he’s an amazing ‘keeper whereas others think he’s overrated and it’s because he’s a very likeable character that he’s won over so many.

I think he’ll be a good signing for you and definitely good to have as a challenger for the no1 spot. I’d be surprised if he makes it at Reading though.
