Bit odd to go from bench warming at Reading to bench warming at Carlisle.
Didn't let us down, but I think we have better at the moment

Minor one but we’ve loaned Tommy McDermott to Rochdale. Should be great experience for him in the Conference and at a good club. Hopefully he can benefit from it and come back a better player.

Has a better chance of breaking through with us but yeah he'll not be going straight into the first team. Life is difficult really for a reserve keeper as you only get a chance if the number one either gets injured or has a string of poor performances.

That is a really good move at the right level for Tommy to push on now.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
He will end up as Carlisle no1, didn’t like the goalie last season he’s too slow for certain shots and better quality forwards will punish it more.

Sounding like it'll be a quiet August for us as far as ins are concerned with two loan signings left to come (CB and a wide player). I think I'd like to see two CB's and a wide player tbh.

Jay Benn and Oisin Gallagher, two young lads, look to be heading out at some point and we're working on getting rid of Adelakun as well.

I think we're going to end up with a senior squad of 20 as it stands.

now a done deal.

Really good signing for you. Should be pushing play offs with the squad you have but I just don’t rate your manager. Reckon he’ll get sacked and Ainsworth will come back to save your season personally.

Holy kept a record amount of clean sheets for us last season, he's an excellent keeper.
As for better quality forwards in a higher league, well he's got plenty of experience in L1 and Championship.

Bristol City have bid 1m with add ons for midfielder George Thomason..........First glance that looks a good offer but George has come on leaps and bounds each season and at 22 still improving......Was our best player pre-season and is unlucky not to get a starting shirt so as much as i know we are a selling club i would turn this down

If he’s not a starter and you’ve had a million pound bid you’d be mad not to take it. Your recruitment has shown you can reinvest that well.

On the face of it yes I’d sell and reinvest but they’ve just got 25m for Scott. Think we can squeeze a bit more. Would want a decent sell on too but we could bring in 2/3 quality additions for that. Or blow it all on moxon!

Fair enough if you think you can get more. I think for most player sales now it’s standard to have some form of sell-on clause inserted. That’s where you can make some real coin. I know we’ve put one in for Forrester so hoping you lot turn him into Maldini :)

Not going over board......we are a Championship club in the making.......I think it is the worst league in the world, but hey

He is 22 and his improvement has been astounding....................Cannot get a starting spot but he may in the championship over others who are playing now

Not about getting more kieran............He is going to be a stand out player 2/3 years down the road

Yes he has a price......1M cash now and 20% sell on

Nothing less, just move on

We have some outstanding u23s.....including Forrester.............not really bothered about going in the championship

Want to see the club evolve again

Looks like we are signing Harvey Vale from Chelsea on loan next week. And he's a player that has actually played for the first team.

He wasn't very good yesterday but that is only one game.

Haha maybe not maldini but he was really good in pre season. Really like the look of him. Had a couple of dribbles up the pitch from cb and scored a good goal. Solid in possession. Will be interesting to see how he fares when he plays a few league games

Many people who know of him seem really excited about this one, can’t say I’ve heard of the guy but probably 90% of Joeys youngster Prem loaners have been very good.

Interesting that Mangan said we have a few signings due in the next week that could be quite the coops. Would be a great to get another goal scorer in there

Harvey Vale was one I’d have liked to see come to Derby, fits our need really well and although he had a tough time at Hull last season has huge pedigree. Disappointed that it doesn’t look like one we’ve pursued - great for Bristol!

We’ve today been linked to Cosgrove, by all accounts we’re said to be in the market for a quick striker - not sure he fits the bill. It might just be agent talk for a player leaving his club. League One is his level and he can be good at it on his day.

Dion Charles linked with a move to the Championship.

Is that an agent trying to get him one ?

Cannot see Bolton willing to sell easily .

Dion Charles is a funny one, from the outside looking in looks like a decent goalscorer but whenever I've seen him his build up play has been disappointing. A lot of Bolton fans on here to say whether I'm right or wrong, but strikes me as a player who is great in a very good Bolton side, but feel like he would struggle in the Championship.

Thomason has turned Bristol City down, wants to stay at Bolton.

Fair play to the lad. Has the potential to go very far in football, and I’ve no doubt he’s a future captain of the club.

“We have had lots of conversations over the weekend and George has never once expressed a desire to leave this club. He loves being here, we love him here. He is a young player with a huge amount of talent with a huge amount of progression left in him too, so after many heart-to-heart chats with him over the weekend I can say he has no desire to leave.”

Depends on the style of the team. He is the best pressing forward I’ve ever seen for us. He runs and sprints all game hassling centre backs etc and he can finish. He is possibly our most important player (between him and Santos - those 2 are the first names on the team sheet) and we look so much more impotent when he’s not playing. He is tailor made for Ismael in a direct system where all the players have to run. I’d go as far to say if we lose him it will have a big impact on our promotion ambitions even if we get the 3-5m being mooted. Early days but I’m more confident this season than I’ve been in years … we look a different animal across the pitch, from set pieces to the way we are passing the ball and mixing it up when we have to. Would be a hammer blow to lose him.

Dion Charles is a defenders nightmare, he sets the tone from the front with his relentless pressure, doesn't stop running in behind & has plenty of goals in him. Him coming from non league makes his attitude on the pitch that much better, he's eager to get to the top & he states so citing Vardy as a big inspiration to him. He can be frustrating at times when he drops deep to get involved as his link up play is erratic & his goalscoring spells can be patchy but he's invaluable to us in our system. He'll be playing in the Champ next season most likely whether it's with us or without us... can't see a bid being big enough to tempt us at this moment but I'll be very worried on deadline day that we might get some serious panic bids for Dion & Santos from above.

We've completed the signings of Reece Hannam and Harrison Neal.

Hannam signs on a permanent deal after his release from Crystal Palace. Would guess he'll be a back up/squad option in defence.

Neal is on loan from Sheffield United, apparently had a decent loan spell with Barrow last year. Another option for the midfield.

Should hopefully be able to name a full bench tomorrow evening now.
