We've been linked locally with Forest midfielder Tyrese Fornah - he was on loan at Reading last season and had spells in League One with Shrewsbury and Plymouth before, I believe?

I think any Forest player coming into the club, especially on loan, is going to have to be almost perfect. I think there is a minority within our fanbase that will be on his back from the get-go. Not sure it's a smart move for him. No idea what type of player he is, a willing runner but does he have any quality?

Really good player Fornah. Not sure how he got on at Reading, but I would have thought a Championship move should be on the cards for him. Fornah was certainly a cut above this level for us a couple of seasons ago.

Fornah is a defensive midfielder who plays just infront of the defenders. The best comparison I have is to think how Claude Makelele played. Won’t score goals or possess any attacking threat but will break up play, hard in the tackle, calm in possession, runs all day long.

Be a good signing for Derby.

Signing number 9 just announced. Ilmari Niskanen for an undisclosed fee from Dundee Utd. Capped by Finland 15 times (yeah it’s only Finland…I know) but he does look decent and only 25. He’ll play RWB but can also play on the left, so a nice bit of versatility.

Expecting to announce attacking midfielder Luke Harris from Fulham this week who is definitely #highlyrated. Already capped for Wales at only 18.

If that goes through we probably just need a striker and we’re done.

Never did I ever think Fornah would be compared to Claude Makelele!

He was shite for us. But to be fair, it was the season before he was with you, during covid. 35 games in the Championship last season as well.

The seemingly ever injured Tom Lowery has picked up his latest innocuous long term injury in training, poor guy, so we're in the hunt for a midfielder.

At the time his signing looked like a real coup, but rumours abound that he had actually failed multiple fitness tests at various clubs before Danny Cowley's magic doctor deemed him fit with a rehab programme.

A really clever player but feel that his body isn't up to it and not sure he'll ever hold down a regular first team spot ever again.

Such a shame as the first time I remember seeing him play live was when we beat Crewe away 3-0. He really stood out as being a really good player in an awful Crewe side. Then we signed him I thought wow this kid is something special. Don't remember him over stretching v Plymouth for his hamstring to go and again can't remember him doing anything in the Bristol Rovers match his meniscus to tear.

According to someone "in the know" on our forum, we've had a bid rejected for Colby Bishop over the summer.

I assume it was a tester as such, and maybe we will go back in for him depending how other targets go.

Funso Ojo has signed a new 3 year deal, bit out the blue but good to see us tying players we want to keep down.

There were rumours of Ipswich interest our end earlier in the summer so must’ve been something in it.

Our owners shelled out half a mil on a long term contract so that there was a decent profit if he succeeded and we offloaded him. Imagine your offer didn’t hit the right notes.

Looks like we're resigning Charlie Kelman from QPR on a pernament deal on a 2 year contract.

Quick striker who IMO fit into Wellens style of football well, he isn't the most clinical though but managed 7 goals for us last season.

Didn't mind him myself, alot of our fans seem to want us to magically bring in a 20 goal a season striker for this level - without thinking that all of those are at the more established clubs, so we have to take punts on youngsters.

He did have a few injuries with us but the club also managed him very carefully. I can assure you that the rumours about him failing multiple fitness tests are wide of the mark.

He was supposed to sign for Wrexham before he signed for you but his agent got so greedy with their executives that they quickly decided to end negotiations.

Don't think anyone else had serious interest in him given how bad we were that season and given his agent was trying to get well over £5K a week for him which would've priced a lot of clubs out.

Charlton pushing for a deal to sign Fankaty Dabo. Undoubtedly good at this level but sounds like he has injury worries. Failed a medical with us last month so not sure what has changed since other than us being more desperate ..

We had Rak Sakyi on loan from our 'rivals' Palace last season. At first fans were a bit cautious but if they play well you soon forget about it. That being said, he was head and shoulders our best player last season and some fans refused to vote for him as our player of the season

Is there a rivalry between Palace and Charlton? Or is it one of those one-way things given Palace traditionally have a fiercer rivalry with Brighton.

In any case, we're apparently bringing in two Premier League loanees before Saturday. Absolutely no idea on names yet though.

We could really do with delving into the Premier League loan market too.

There's definitely a rivalry with Palace given we are historically probably the two competing for being South London's best club. I'd say they're our second most hated club and we're probably their second/third. So nowhere near as big as Derby/Forest or them and Brighton but definitely still a lot of hatred. We haven't had a lot of crossover in the last 20 odd years but we did manage to relegate them in 2004.

I had no idea he was still available. Didn’t realise he failed the medical… thought he’d signed. I’d 100% take him at Bolton if he is fit.. I know we were interested earlier in the summer. Having said that I can’t believe how good Dacres-Cogley is. Been immense so far

Bonner has confirmed we’re back in the market after Cousins getting the injury Wigan fans warned us about. 4-6 weeks with a quad problem.

I can see us going back in for McGrandles at Charlton.

I think they, like us, are trying to banish all memories of Garnerball. McGrandles and Payne the last of his signings left so you've every chance!

Even with May due to return we definitely can't mess about now Cousins is injured. Mcgrandles or someone similar is a must before the window closes, otherwise we risk the same problem as last season.

Worse news though is Janneh's injury after a good start. Need to find a replacement for him now too.

We've signed Alex Mitchell on loan from Milwall for the season. He was at St Johnstone in the SPL last season and the season before at Leyton Orient. Seems he's a right sided CB, which is a position we needed to fill.

Thoughts The Terminator E10rifle?

That's probably us about done now, perhaps a winger if we can get one in but we've done our business fairly early this season.

Certainly the positives of securing our place in League 1 for this season early. Very good recruitment this summer.

Just seen Oakley-Boothe has signed for Blackpool. How has managed to.get a League 1 club?

Jack Hunt joins on a free, released from Wednesday.

Can't say I know much about his, but his pedigree is very impressive. Another strong signing. Exciting stuff

Has most of your signings been 30+ this summer? Seems you're going for experience.

Not at all:

Cox: 20 (loan)
Taylor: 21
Crama: 21 (loan)
Thomas: 24
Vale: 19 (loan)
Hall: 20
Hunt: 32
Wilson: 34
Friend: 35
Brown: 28

I think a mixture of experience in (hopefully) the right places, but I guess our starting 11 has an average age of around 24/25?

Had a difficult season last year due to illness and injury but scored the winning penalty v Peterborough and came on at Wembley to help us up.

Has a cracking delivery and will always be welcome at S6.

Looks like Reading have put a few on the transfer list, talk on their forum is Andy Carroll is one of them after our game at the weekend and he didn’t feature midweek.

Getting pinched by Smudge for 90 minutes and back pocketed was probably that “welcome to league one” moment where he realised it wasn’t going to be much fun.

Rumours we're after JCH.

Can't see it myself, but I reckon I'd faint if we did sign him
