That's because you paid L1 wages in L2, you don't currently pay Championship wages, or even close.

We're owned by a billionaire family with a wage bill of over £21m.

Your highest paid player would be middle of the pack at PNE, at best.
You aren't making him one of your top earners though so this goes out the window.

It's not a flex. It's just what they have said all along- they don't have Championship money let alone premier league if we do have ambitions to go there (which they say they do).

The Championship is when you start pissing money down the drain at a ridiculous rate, the income to wages ratio is insane. It’s definitely worth worrying about if you get to that level.

Eh? We could make him one of our average earners and it'd still be a pay rise, that's the point.

I can't even remember the name of the player we're even discussing to be honest.

PNE being a case in point!

It's the owners ambitions to get to the top but it's a bit of a poison chalice. Not sure where the benefit is tbh.

When is your 55k stadium coming?

We need a training ground first!

I know you're joking but we have just appointed new architects for the Kop redevelopment (not sure what was wrong with the previous scheme) Meant to be built and ready for the 2026 U19 Euros. We won't ever end up with anything near 55k, we don't need it that big whatever people say in click bait interviews.

Can't say I lose much sleep over some billionaires losing £14m a year, they could pump much more into PNE if they wanted to.

As long as the losses aren't going against the club then it really doesn't matter I suppose. The money at the top end in football is ridiculous.

You just aren't paying him more than what we will offer him in his next deal. I'm not saying you couldn't, but you won't.

I wouldn't worry about remembering his name, he isn't going to Preston anytime soon.

Your first sentence is weird nonsense, but the second bit is probably right, he'll most likely end up at Stoke if they really want him.

I think you're underestimating us a bit. Hopefully the rest of the Championship clubs do too when we get there.

Christ... I hope you're on a big piss take.

Stoke's owners could buy Wrexham 1000 times over.

Listening to the biggest load of bollox i have read on here for some time
Wrexham are 5 years minimum ready for the Championship and Prestons owner is propping the club up each month and want to get out, it was Trevor Hemmings who owned and bought the club.
He has passed now so will have to start being sustainable........And the Championship is nothing but a cash cow.

In fact i doubt any club in the North are making money

Probably buy my lot with change down the back of the sofa!

Casey
Yes it all about levels Casey you are way above yours and the only way you can survive is having seasons like last year and selling your complete team.
It worked lasy year may work again but if it does not you will go down to div 2 which still maybe higher than you are batting.

Said it before and say it again the next recession will wipe out a lot of teams and they wont be all in leagues one and two

Given that Argiggle fans constantly go on about not being able to compete I eould tend to agree

What the utter fuck are you talking about you lying turd?

They want out? Craig Hemmings is far more invested in PNE than his dad was, and investment in player recruitment is higher than it ever was under Trevor Hemmings ( Not Eddie, you thick fuck).

They'd only sell for a huge amount to owners who pass their due diligence, and have said they'll step aside if they think it's for the good of the club.

It's also long been said that the football losses offset taxes in their other businesses through clever accounting. Something I believe more and more in recent years.

Is the holding company for Preston within the same group of businesses via the owners?

Mansfield was put within the One Call Group for that reason a while ago(well to ‘increase its purchasing power’ or something like that)

Although we usually make a small profit nowadays.

It's tied to some but their overall portfolio is massive so not sure which exactly. They certainly won't make money from PNE but I bet the end of year losses barely make an impact at the Isle of Man HQ.

You'd think it was the 1950s the way this Preston fan is going on.

Suspiciously active in the League 1 section. Are we preparing for something?

Yes i got Trevor Hemmings wrong....Brain Freeze
Hold my hands up......Trevor Hemmings loved his racing but also loved North End
You say Craig is more invested......He seems a good owner but he has turned the tap off quite rightly excessive transfers in and wages......He is indeed propping it up with new shares but that is not sustainable in the long run.
Nobody but nobody are buying you out unless the Hemming family take a big loss or you hit the jackpot of reaching the premier league
You need to relax and see the full picture...........Like i say no team in the north are running at a profit and certainly not in the championship

He hasn't turned the tap off at all. We broke our transfer record last season, spending about £4m in total. We also spent another £2.5m this summer despite no player sales.

It's fuck all compared to other Championship clubs but still a bigger outlay than under Trevor who spent less than what we brought in on transfers.

Signed TJ Eyoma on a short term deal due to our injury crisis. Lincoln fans what’s he like?

Feels like September again, I know the latter one was forced because we had no-one left in the squad who could play up front, but weird to have two signings in November. If either of them could replicate Guiness-Walker's impact, I'd be happy.

I think it's a solid signing, surprised its taken him as long to get a club this season. He was with us for a couple of seasons (?) after a cracking loan from Tottenham. Struggled to regain the form of the loan and found himself in and out of the squad, trying to work out his best position. However when he was called upon was always very dependable. I think both parties just agreed it was time for him to try elsewhere.

Was supposedly training with us. Given our lack of striking options would have been a good addition.
Another one lost to location and/or wages I guess
