Darcy was a nailed on starter for Crawley in the first half of last season then there was talk of him being transferred and he was in and out of the side after that.

This season he is a nailed on starter again (he was ill v Birmingham). Bodes well for the second half of the season.

I do think he is a good player but I can't see a club such as Birmingham wanting him. I just can't see him making it in the Championship.

All our players are always for sale. It's the nature of being, just about, the smallest club in the league.

Blackman played for us for a season under Ainsworth, surprise surprise. He was decent for us though.

I would surely think you have to be favourites to sign McCarthy though.

He is a good player, but I don’t think he’s going to get top half L1 clubs flooding him with offers, unless maybe as squad cover.

Gone a bit quiet on the McCarthy front at our end. Agree we should be favourites. We won't be troubling the top half this season! Hoole has done ok at RB but need better.

Judging from an interview with Steve Evans, we've got a clause in the Kayode loan deal that we can send him back but only in the 3rd week of January. As we've got 6 loans ATM that will be triggered as he's only played about 3 games before getting injured. Imagine Sagoe Jnr will head back to Arsenal as he's been left out of squads,l recently, and probably O'Reilly will head back to Villa. Seems to lightweight and a luxury player for an Ainsworth team. Could see Ojo being sent back to Vale too, Subject to adequate cover.

I could see that (although strangely he wasn't an Ainsworth signing originally).

Basically Butcher has not been getting games, not through any fault of his own, just because there's arguably better players ahead of him in the pecking order.

A lot depends on the January business we do first though.

If we sort out a permanent deal for Aaron Morley (our current loanee, who Bolton have confirmed they'll recall in Jan unless we sign him) then yeah, I could see a Butcher loan happening.

But otherwise we'd still need him.

Definitely a solid presence in the holding midfield role, and can even chip in with the odd goal (doesn't do it too often as it's not really his job, but he's got a shot on him).

I can see this happening, if only because Wxm's scriptwriters (who determine everything that happens to them over the course of a season) thought it'd be a great story arc to have this headline pinned up on the training room wall and have the whole team laugh about it in retrospect, when Barry scores a hat-trick against Stockport in March.
