Wycombe turning down £7m for a lad who was playing Sunday League football 18 months ago has distorted the market. Seems like £2m could be the going rate for a guaranteed 15 goal man at this level like Smith.

We do create very little due to the style of play but having a number of strikers who are not mobile or capable of playing an entire match for a variety of reasons is also a reason. Palmer for example has no business starting games at L2 level nevermind up here.

Fletcher is a different class but only has 20 mins in his legs. Mullin again those problems look to be part fitness related as well as reaching his level.

Maybe I’ll get proven wrong in the last few days but we seem very committed to being frugal, unless a player ‘on the list’ becomes available for cheap.

Just the one loanee so far, and I would expect/hope for at least one more.

We have apparently come back in with a fresh offer for Kone - up to 7m with 4 up front then 3 as potential add ons.

Think Wycombe could reject that and get more out of us tbh - we are clearly very desperate. All a bit mad

I'd say a bit of both. Bar Fletcher we are very wasteful. We don't make many chances, especially away but when we do unless it's Fletcher and maybe Max Cleworth from a set peice we miss more then score.

Absolutely makes sense, we never really gave him a chance to be fair - he’s looked pretty meh the few times I’ve seen him, but it can’t help the lad with match sharpness if we never actually play him.

And Exeter need defenders, he already knows the players and can hopefully slot straight back in.

I can’t honestly see him coming back to us at the end of the loan, but it’s not really his fault if we bought him and then didn’t play him.

Think we may have a busy few days after the appointment tonight of Schumacher. Can see three or four out and a couple in. Would not be surprised to see Baxter, Santos, Jones and Williams departing and we still need someone to rat and win the ball in midfield and a lump up front to play alongside Collins

Wigan confirmed they signed Ronan Darcy from Crawley.

Transfer fee is tuppence hapenny probably. He's a no 10 with tricks and such but not very quick or strong and doesn't force himself on games enough.

Said before I do think he is OK. One issue. Our manager said he had a strange injury to his groin. Lumps growing apparently. Which probably means he grew a pair and told Wagmi to sign someone or he's off.
