Heard 370 something Crewe at Barrow.

Not that we have a leg to stand on regarding attendance willy waving but thought you might have brought another hundred or so given the position you're in and run of form you're on. Relatively straightforward journey on the train.

I agree I thought we might of got close to 500, we do have some big aways coming up over the next few weeks, so maybe people are prioritising them, Tranmere, Stockport and Notts away all coming up in the next few weeks.

They were shit to us as well sadly.

Maybe part of the plan, take no fans, keep under the radar and win.

On a side note, guessing we won’t get more than the 900 or so for our game?

No that'll be it. Could be an interesting game if there's something still riding on it.

8000 Newport fans!!!!!!!! I get Wrexham have been abit of a draw and it's find of a derby, but that's giving massive big day out vibes.
Apparently they needed to buy a ticket for this game to be able to purchase for the Man Utd match.

So just an influx of big game wankers then? Didn’t realise the Dave held that many to be honest, was about 6k when we played in the play off semis a few seasons back, although that was a Thursday night.

Not for the first time this season a completely even number ending in 00 for Wrexham. Suspicious if you ask me.

Newport stuck an extra stand on for ours and the United game next week, to accommodate extra fans. Easily the worst ground i've been on.

They are all bad grounds when you lose, something we are not used to.

1K+ sold for MK Dons at the weekend by this morning, I'd expect another 500 or so maybe to be added to that figure come the day which wouldn't be a bad turnout at all.

Just had a look and other than Wimbledon on a Tuesday night, our next closest away game after this MK game will be our next away at Notts County - which also happens to have been shunted to a Friday night. Unless we're in the mix I'd expect our average to properly dip soon with this run of highly desirable away games - Newport, Salford, Barrow (another midweek), Wimbledon, Morecambe, Harrogate, Bradford and Mansfield to finish off. Should take 1k to Wimbledon, and then MAYBE we could take similar to Bradford and Mansfield if there's anything on the games by then.

Moving to Kent has given me a new found sympathy for Gillingham's support. Not just the driving miles but the extra cost if you wanna go via public transport, those Southeastern lines into London are ridiculously expensive. Driving up to my sister's and back in Lincoln twice in three weekends hasn't helped my opinion either.

London tax very much applies to Kent despite the county receiving very little benefit from being so close to the capital! Travel is expensive as you say (house prices are a nonsense too), plus the fact that to get anywhere that isn't Kent you HAVE to go via London, there's no other choice - so avoiding the prices is impossible. Plus whenever you try to escape the county via road you have to deal with the M25 which is comfortably the worst major road for traffic in the country. Literally weeks of my life spent queuing at Dartford...

All of the above is a major part of why I now live in the Midlands!

Did you not go to away games when you were non-League?

It's not even the worst ground we've played Newport away at, for goodness' sake

Did most of them to be fair, but in their defence, I expected it to be worse than shit, but Dave Parade is for a league club for over 10 years and was absolutely wank. Easily the worst of the established clubs (excluding Sutton and Harrogate in my comparisons).

I quite liked Spytty Park tbh
Did you ever go in the terrace at the far end? At least athletics tracks like Gateshead/Brighton/Don Valley/BPA had tallish stands so you could see things from higher up.

I only went in the Conference South, where the game was unsegregated, so we got use the side terrace. Which had a decent enough view

I went to Spytty Park for a pre season friendly for the Holdsworth derby. You could walk all around the ground. I think the first and only time twins had been managers in the opposite dug out. On that basis tv picked it as a live match next season when Newport got promoted. Unfortunately one of the Holdsworth’s had moved on so didn’t manager against each other.

I’ll take all of the non league grounds and I’ll raise you Bloomfield Road before it was redeveloped, worst than anything I ever saw in non league. Like a giant toilet.

There's worse grounds than Newport's at this level, and a fair few worse in non-league.

Barrow's is utter shite. Club built new stands with pillars! What's that about?
