Only sold 480 so far for Saturdays trip to Doncaster. Not great really since 1500 went Notts 2 weeks ago the and before that we sold out Stockport and 1000+ went Tranmere in the previous away games.

Especially given you’re league position

We had 850 at AFC as reported:

We sold out 1,100+ last time we went there in 2022 (before the allocation was reduced due to crowd trouble), so why anyone thinks we would only take 640 god knows (our away support is crap but not that crap for our biggest away game). The 850 were sold out a week before the fixture as Camden said.

As for empty seats, there were certainly hundreds empty in the home stands as you can see in any videos/pictures from the day (attached one example )...

Glass houses and all that…I wait for the boycott excuse (despite the fact your fans now even call it a rivalry and seemed more engaged with this game than any other). Only have to glance at your forum / any videos from your fans last Saturday to see that.

Take a look at our average home attendance mate !! Have a look at yours at the same time . 25000 empty seats been gathering dust for the past 20 year's. The only time you get a decent attendance is when the away team being thousands.

We don't like putting money in Winkies pocket. Plus it's a soulless bowl in the middle of a retail park. No atmosphere whatsoever. It's hardly a place that any away supporter would put at the top of the list for a visit.

You brought 3,000+ the first time (yes I know it was the FA Cup but still some boycott).

Isn’t your ground a boring four sided Meccano kit in the middle of a housing/retail development too? These types of stadia are the norm these days I’m afraid. Ours can be compared to all the other bowls with a few unique features and yours can be compared to the other Meccanno kits a la Colchester, Shrewsbury with a few unique features (no offence to those clubs, it is what it is).

I would have preferred us to have a size of 15,000-20,000 instead (especially given our average was just over 13,000 in the Championship and 8,000-10,000 in L1). Hopefully the 8,500 seater top tier blows off and then it’s back down to 22,000.

They built the stadium with a 'build it and they will come' attitude. It hasn't worked. We did the same with a smaller capacity and it has. 85% attendance every match and we could sell more without the gap between home and away supporters.

I made the mistake of unignoring your post. The away end of our ground is pretty basic but the home ends are fantastic. Numerous absolutely delicious albeit expensive food outlets.

It‘a got 3 temporary stands, doesn’t have a papa johns inside and the beer was worse than when those staff members at Wembley dipped a cup into the Heineken overspill tray. Horrible.

Yep at the moment it has 3 temporary stands that will be replaced at some point. You should've gone down the same route !! How can anyone enjoy watching football with an atmosphere that equates to playing in a cemetery.

Our stadium is clearly far too big for us, we were victims of our own success as the development coinsided with us being in the 2nd tier with a good team and regular huge travelling numbers visiting. In hindsight 15,000 is the sweet spot would have been ideal for us but understand why they built it with a 20,000 capacity at the time.

The one thing you can't have is a capacity that restricts income on a regular basis. You don't want a stadium capacity that lacks ambition, that isn't fit for purpose if your club is successful and goes up a division or two.

As many clubs at many levels have experienced it ain't easy to increase their current capacity when needed without moving location and it sure don't come cheap!!!!

You don't have to look too far from Meadow Lane to witness a prime example.

I personally think both grounds are a bit better than that. I can't put my finger on it but Wimbledon have managed to get a bit of character into theirs. Also don't think it's fair to suggest it's placed anywhere near as badly as most new builds. It's not exactly near a station which isn't ideal but it's still walkable from the Northern Line with plenty of pub choices and is doable from central London. Your ground is both the most impressive and most tinpot structure in L2. As an event space/venue it's really good, the problem being that the event most commonly held there is League 2 football. Massive Darlington vibes.

In terms of who has the best away support, let's face facts...this is a classic case of two bald men fighting over a comb.

There are in fact 5 stations all within a 20 minute walk of plough lane . We actually have planning permission for a 20 thousand capacity stadium. So basically that will mean the removal of the 3 temporary stands. It's not going to happen anytime soon but it will be happen at some point. The current ground is fine although we could probably do with a couple of thousand extra seats

As I like to say we don't own the ground, it owns us.

It you want really tinpot the Jehovas Witnesses outnumber us when they have their yearly shindig in the stadium. and the rugby, and the womens international football and probably even the darts in the Marshall arena. However it's what funds the fooball team so I'm happy with it. Also the seats are so comfortable I can doze off if it's a shit game.

Win win.
