I mean they were certainly no shows when it mattered back in the day. 391 out of 450 sounds about right.

We’ll be taking the full 500 we have been given either way :bdick:

Why not? It deserves mocking. It is literally 11 miles from ground to ground and they did not sell out according to the other poster…

Also, as a club who have not won an away game since April, I am surprised our away followings are even what they are.

Edit to add: see below too, at least 11 clubs, including AFC, that we can now officially mock :woo:

Morecambe's away attendance at Fleetwood is a guesstimate (average Morecambe away)

Based on their historic home support I imagine you are probably right.

Morecambe isn't a short trip.

Still fantasising about our attendances when we’re a division above you, that’s an impressive infatuation Mr magpie

Says the guy who is viewing the league two away support thread when his club aren't even in this division :ffs:

Fantasising? :dk: You've gotta explain that one Adam or I'm sorry to say the rest of your post and emoji is null and void.

Looks like Notts declined our request for additional tickets. Shame but it’s their prerogative. Guessing there might have been an issue with extra police availability or something like that.

Give them the same in return? (Not sure how they travel these days though as they didn't bring many on the day they could of won auto promotion in 2010ish all be it before they increased home crowds).

They capped our play off game there at 2k and left 2000 empty seats hoping us having less fans there would give them an advantage.
Ho ho ho.

No one will get more than 1,900 this season then, interesting.

I think we’ve just decided that we don’t want to let teams bring massive away followings for a big day out any more and try and keep as much home advantage as we can. Particularly as all the extra money tends to be swallowed up by policing and stewarding costs anyway.

It's possibly because of the damage caused in past visits. Police advice and all that.

Or as suggested doesn't make financial sense to sell another 1000 due to increased costs. Pre the Reedtz brothers ownership we were far more reliant on large away followings to make sure attendances were healthy and to improve the clubs finances. That's no longer the case due a very sizeable increase in home support.

Still 1900 is more than most and should guarantee a good atmosphere. Could be worse we could have a small stadium and give less than 1000 to vistings teams.

Don't recall any trouble on our previous visits?

Nah it will be them limiting you, we were given loads more last season but that will be police advice.

It's a shame really as there's likely to be very little trouble. We could have potentially taken at least 3k , which would have made for an excellent atmosphere. Still, 2k is decent enough.

It’s all part of Notts County plan to try and rise up the away following table.

As most know, Notts historically have travelled pathetically, but since the beginning of last season they started to finally pull their weight and turning up in respectable, and sometimes impressive numbers after being excited at being back in the big boy league, they even sold out the North Stand at Field Mill last season!!!!!

Unfortunately for them, they happen to be a attractive away day with a large stadium to boot, so the only solution is to limit away teams allocation to lower the seasonal average, I respect the hustle.

Gutted, 4 of us missing out then, assumed there would be as many tickets as we wanted. Serves me right.

I would do the same tbh for any big games , if you get decent crowds - if you are a less well supported team you take the income ; if you know you will get decent numbers/fill it take the advantage ; a noisy big away following can make a massive difference imo and make it almost a home game .

Oh well, at least they’re not troubled by that inconvenience any longer :)

Barnsley did the same to bolton in the league 1 playoff last season also, limited it to 2,000. Clearly it’s got a certificate for more as we had 3,296 there last month for a Friday night game.

I can see why sides would do it in the playoffs, but also if (as Jacob says) if you’re giving 4,000 out and all of that is swallowed up by police and stewards costs would the club be gaining? presumably like Doncaster this weekend.
