Bizarre given that we sold the allocation and then a handful of 'additional' tickets that were made available. Can't understand folk buying tickets for an away day and then not turning up.

I asked this morning on Facebook whether Anderson's gave a reason for the no show. I got this reply.

They claim they had no booking from us, Mandy found an email from them confirming the booking. I heard the man on the phone telling Nick our steward that they don't have booking from us AND they can't send a coach now as they have only one driver, two are needed for a long trip. I believe Mandy.

For context, Mandy, known to all as Mandy in the office, is our go to for any problems. She would have been dealing with this at 6am on a Saturday morning. She is an absolute treasure.

Apparently MK Dons have put an offer in for Mandy and she’s mulling it over.

Insert smilie here, I can't get it to work.

She knows which side of her bread is buttered. A couple of years ago her husband died leaving her with teenage offspring.

Without knowing this a supporter started a fundraiser to thank her for her sterling work only hoping to raise enough for a few bottles of fizz.

It raised enough to pay for a holiday for her and her offspring. It was well over a grand. None of us put massive amounts in either but many folk donated. The best off the pitch signing after Ashley Bayes and Craig Cope.

Nah, we just took their women’s team coach instead today.
I decided to see what you'd posted. I see that your management and players have all gone to Real Bedford.

Our women's manager is a diehard Wimbledon supporter, the son and grandson of diehard Wimbledon supporters. Kev might get tempted higher but he'd never coach your women's team.

No, we genuinely have. Not Kev whoever he is, but Abdoullah Kheir. Key word being coach, but not being able to read never stopped you lot.

We wouldn’t want Mandy either, we have a person in the same role that’s fantastic. Wouldn’t name her though because your fans are weird and will end up giving her death threats like with our SLO.

We've pretty much sold out our 1600 initial allocation for Vale. Vale are sending us another 200 but have capped it at that. Seems odd that they keep doing this to us, like last year in the league Cup. Yet other teams can have as many as they want.

Wasn't the League Cup down to Stoke being at home and Police availability? Could be wrong on that though!

Not sure why we've caped it though, we haven't for Walsall up to this point and allowed teams like Bolton and Derby the full 3100.

It's because Crewe have to pay costs for any unsold tickets. Walsall were given 2000 and sold them and we're given another 500 so teams can have the extra allocation if they cough up the money for it. 1800 is more than Crewe have brought to vale for about 25 years so it's probably likely your club not wanting to request higher ticket allocation incase they don't sell.

Don't like it really, get as many fans as you can in, didn't agree with Notts County doing it with us or this, can understand a play off semi final going with the same you get but if Crewe do it to us in the reverse there can be no complaints.

Get fans in the ground, surely makes sense.

Might be the usual no more tickets like with Notts to us then if demand is there we relent and give a few hundred.

The thing is if Crewe hadn't won on Saturday then the 1200 sold prior to there home game would probably have been what they would have brought. These extras have now decided they want go due to the latest win so sending tickets at this stage is abit late really compared to Walsall selling there allocation and getting there extra 500 tickets 3 weeks before the actual game.

There's also the problem that only 4500 were at our last Tuesday night home game against Colchester so vale don't really know if there's going be a good amount of home fans there. Loads tend to not bother with the night games and it's on sky too so even with a few of them deciding to go I can't see anymore than 5500 home fans there spread across 4 stands meaning Crewe will out sing us and that crap football in a library song will be sung at 8.01pm.
