Those perks sky kick offs certainly are annoying. My apologise I was just surprised it was sub 5K especially when you are in such a lofty position. Didn't realise it wasn't unusual at BP.

Was the attendance the last time Colchester in town even lower than yesterday? I have it as 5,010 but happy to be corrected.
Ah apologies, I was looking at the match at Colchester last season not at BP, the number in your notebook is indeed correct.

It is slightly unusual on a Saturday for it to be below 5000, admittedly such low numbers are usually reserved for midweek matches, but I think given the circumstances I mentioned mean it's not a surprise. There certainly won't have been any Town fans raising their eyebrows at that figure.

Nae bother. Your game last season against Colchester was actually midweek so maybe 5,010 no surprise.

12:30 kick off and bad weather ain't helping anybody.

I think that's a blood good turn out for us considering the conditions. The supporters' coach didn't turn up due to being stuck in the snow at Yeadon. Some took to cars, a few Harrogate living in London made it plus at least one supporter stayed over the weekend anticipating poor travelling conditions. Gillingham FC bought us all a hot drink.

The 470 mile round trip in atrocious weather was worth it to see Town win.

I love when clubs do this - it's a tiny gesture, but those fans will look upon Gillingham as a decent club for it.

Sold all 2100 tickets that got sent to us for tonight's game. More have been made available online that can be picked up from Vale Park.

Decent effort, nearly what we take to you (all be it we are usually sell out) should be a decent atmosphere and along with Walsall in 10 days or so help the coffers ahead of January.

You pretty much always come to us on a Saturday 3pm kick off though. The only midweek game I can remember you coming to Crewe you brought about 800, you did beat us that night though, I remember Luke Rodgers scoring.

We were virtually relegated at that point in fairness, we have sold out pretty much every other time.

Does always seem to be a Saturday or Bank Holiday game thinking back though, see if Sky do the reverse fixture yet! Recall a cracker of a game on a Tuesday at VP in around 2009/10? You went up and we went into administration which cost us a shot on top 7 but was a very good 1-1 draw under the lights.

It will sell out for the reverse regardless of when it is. Imagine this will be one where it barely makes it past the first couple of point cut offs under the loyalty system.

959 Vale were there that night in 08 to see a side pretty much already relegated. When the roles were reversed for a Saturday fixture in 2016, we relegated you with just 500 Crewe fans at Vale.

How many Vale do you reckon would come to Crewe now for a midweek game?

We took 3200 to Sheff Weds on a Thursday night so sure we would muster the 2.2k for Crewe easily.

Looks like you’ve rattled the PV Attendance Police with this one, they have lie about this

Cut my on post short, what I should have added is that they lie about what they brought that mid-week night, 800 is being generous, 600 maximum as the Popside was know where near half full, certainly not the near 1k the PVAP claim. Why can’t they just admit it, they were in a relegation season, just like we were when we only brought that 550, difference being we were already down barring a miracle, the Vale defeat rubber stamped it, we were not paying Smurthwaite our good money to witness that.

I doubt you could even find out the away figure from that, its 16-17 years ago!

Not lying pal, 100% fact we took 959 to you that night. I remember correcting a few Crewe fans about it at the time and provided the link to Crewe's official match report on their website. Obviously being so long ago it's been archived now so can't be posted here. And if I was going to lie, why would I come out with 959? That's a shocking following for a game 20 minutes up the road. Hardly something to brag about is it.

Don't play the "WUM" card one day, then come out with words like "rattled" the next.

Also a bit hypocritical giving it "attendance police" then try give us shit from a game played 16 years ago.

959 or 559? Why do people care? Why do people care so much and get so worked up about it. It's 16 years ago FFS. Times change.

I'll be honest, I always thought it was 800 odd and my memory is usually bang on, as I remember every game I've ever been to. We played in that black Harlequin Property away kit, and won 2-0. Luke Rodgers and a Paul Harsley penalty, IIRC? Remember Popey playing up front for Crewe and Mike Dean being the referee.

2158 Crewe at VP. Total crowd 10022. Pretty good for a Monday night all round.
Decent, nearly 8k home fans when on TV and think I read that was Crewe’s biggest league away following since their second tier days?

Attendances discussed in the....attendances thread. Sorry mate.
I didn’t mean it in any way shitty it was 100% just a joke, I was gonna put the laughing face emoji at the end but thought it was fairly obvious to be fair.
